Pasta was very good and I enjoyed the atmosphere but very extensive for a very small portion. I would definitely think about getting a side with a pasta dish, I was glad I did that! But still I gave it 3 stars because of the portion size :(
Wait staff seemed knowledgeable. Answered questions about cross contamination. 2 Nima tests came back positive for gluten. Spaghetti bolognese with gf pasta and Caprese. When my order came-gf pasta which was supposed to be penne-there was another type of pasta thrown in. How did they mess up the caprese?? Manager never came over.
Food was good, but a little expensive for what it was. Service was excellent. Didn’t get sick. They seemed knowledgeable about cross contamination. The server was pretty knowledgeable and was willing to get answers to my questions about GF when she didn’t know the answer.
Great Italian in Hawaii! seafood pasta was so good, gluten-free penne was aldente, wine sauce was excellent and seafood perfectly prepared. My husband had the veggie pasta arabiata, he loved it. Our waiter Clint was very accommodating and double checked with the chef on everything with a smile, he made the experince even better. Don't miss this place at the Hilton Hawaian Village! Would give 5 stars if they had gluten-free bread.
honestly it was a bit expensive, and apparently the only gf thing you can get is penne, albeit prepared like any of the other pasta options. says nothing about gf or celiac on the menus. brought our table bread with gluten before meal, nothing for me. my meal was pretty good, but I expected more based on the other reviews. more options, more knowledgeable server, more je ne sais quoi... I mean, why not spend your $$$ somewhere you're more comfortable?
The pasta primavera was very delicious!! Amazingly good. It was so good that I asked the server to ensure it was glutenfree!! It was spicy which was perfect for me but if you don't like spicy food then ask them to make it mild. Absolutely no issues with gluten cross contamination. They don't offer this option at lunch but chef was nice enough to accommodate us!! Loved it.
They had a few items for gluten free. The food was good and the wait staff was knowledge about gf. The only reason why I am rating this a 4 instead of 5 is that they run out of items early. We were there at 7 pm and they were out of the scallops risotto and other items. The cook really needs to have more on hand as I am not the first to comment on this.
They ran out of gf pasta and didn't inform us until after we ordered, even though I asked right when we sat down about it. I ended up having the surf and turf. It was expensive and a very small portion. The service was also very slow and inattentive. Our waiter never even came back to check on how our meals were. A different waiter realized we'd been done for a while and took our plates. Definitely not worth the time or money.
This place is tucked away inside the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Excellent meal. Pasta was excellent! Had gf arrabiata pasta w shrimp. I thought the portions were normal... But not not super sized. Pricy but everything around this area is. It was our last night here - or I'd come back all the time !! So good. 4 stars bc service was slow... Otherwise excellent dinning experience
Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Server was willing to double-check on menu selections to make sure that I could eat them. Ended up getting chicken alfredo with gluten free penne pasta. The pasta wasn't over cooked or anything, but the serving was pretty small and the prices were quite high. Based on what my party ordered, this wasn't exclusive to selections ordered gluten-free. It's in a touristy area so not too surprising. Really enjoyed my meal and didn't get sick afterwards, but the prices are the main reason that I am not giving a higher review.
One of Honolulu's best restaurants hands down.- really nice ambiance. Staff very knowledgeable about GF options - almost anything on their menu can be adapted. My compliments to chef and management for making our GF meal very safe and satisfying.
Awesome gf spaghetti lunch with chianti. Staff was very knowledgeable about gluten free. When I asked about the cooking procedures with the pasta, they said it's cooked in its own pot with its own water. They said they have about 2-3 tables every day where someone has to eat gluten free.
