Gluten Intolerant

This was my favorite meal while we were in Maui for a week this summer. Our waiter was very helpful answering my questions regarding gluten-free options because his wife is celiac. So I felt very safe and confident. I didn’t really enjoy my coconut margarita however that’s only because I prefer my margaritas to be blended. I had two tacos with rice and beans. We came on a Monday night and had reservations because we had a large party. When making the reservations they were informed of our anniversary. They brought out a nice slice of chocolate cake, that I could not eat. When I brought this up to our waiter he quickly got a slice of flan for us. Yes it is GF, but I wish he would’ve told me what he was bringing bc I would’ve declined. Flan isn’t my jam… or really anyone else’s in our group. Neither of the desserts were complimentary… Beautiful spots to take photos.

We are here with our celiac daughter and it was an excellent experience. Our server was very knowledgeable about the allergy and explained they would heat her food and tortillas in a separate pan. Food was amazing and we all feel good after eating here. Also, can’t beat the view!

We were a little nervous after a failed dinner the night before, but tacos at Fridas tested safe on the Nima sensor! As others have said, no rice, but steak tacos made my son happy and I was thrilled it was safe.

As others have stated, there’s no GF menu but the servers seem knowledgeable about how to modify dishes. The rice isn’t safe, nor is anything from the fryer. My daughter with celiac had the taco plate with fish and short rib with double beans. She also had flan which was very delicious! No reactions.

Server was knowledgeable and the food was great. Nothing from the fryer is safe, but there are a lot of good options. I had the huevos rancheros with with carnitas, and a La Familia margarita and it was all awesome! If you do get that dish, they can prepare the tortillas on a separate grill instead of the fryer which I believe is how they are usually done. Very cute spot as well, overlooking the water

Updated Covid menu Nothing is marked on the menu but I told my server I was celiac and another waitress came up and gave me a run down of what I could eat. The kitchen took precautions. Chips are a no go as they are fried with everything else. I ate the asada tacos and swapped the rice for another side of beans. You can’t eat the rice either. Another option is the tostada without the shell which is really big! Looked yummy. Overall okay food, I was just happy to be helped with such a large party.

Waiter was great. He was knowledgeable about gluten free but had to “ pull” the information out of him. Said most everything can be gluten free though it was not labeled as such in menu. Most everything is corn tortilla with exception of enchilada. My daughter had a virgin strawberry daiquiri and huevous rancheros and was fine. Only real issue is it was not listed what gf options were. Have to ask food server.

We went here based on the previous reviews. However the waitress told us that they couldn’t guarantee that the food would be safe. For example, the chicken might be grilled on a contaminated surface. We decided not to stay.

Staff is super knowledgeable! Plenty of options and modification can be made to “make your own meal”. I’m allergic to wheat, celiac, and have a diary allergy. Food was great and best of all no allergic reaction!

The server was very knowledgeable. She had suggestions on what to substitute and was quick to double check the enchilada sauce she wasn’t sure about. I felt very confident eating there and didn’t get sick. My food was delicious.

The food and service was good, not great but good. The waiter sorta of seemed iffy on what was and wasn't gluten free but did know that the chips were fried in the same batter as the breaded fish. I stuck with Diegos Plato with chicken and has zero issues but again was unsure and uneasy while eating it due to the waiters hesitations. The best part of the restaurant is the view!

Delicious! Great service! Couldn't eat the chips because the fryer is not dedicated, but other than that a wonderful experience. Will (our server) was great, knew all about cross-contamination, and made sure that the chef was aware of my Celiac. The carnitas enchiladas were delicious, the gf macaroons amazing, awesome drinks, and a great sunset view!
