Great experience overall. The menu clearly labels GF (gluten free) and AGF (available gf) options. We confirmed that a separate fryer is used for GF items so the gluten free fish and chips was an obvious choice. Food quality was excellent. You wouldn't know the fish was prepared with gluten free batter. Drink options were a bit more limited: there was only a single gluten free beer but a few types of cider available.
Wonderful little (big!) pub, we had the Irish stew and the GF fish and chips. The stew was /so good/, hearty and beefy! The fish and chips were substantial and *crispy*. Only had Peroni as the GF beer, so I opted for the Bulmers cider - nice to have options!
Overall great experience, good service as typical on our Ireland visit. Recommended.
Great for GF! They had gluten free marked on their menu and the majority of the menu was able to be made gluten free. They had a separate fryer for the fries and anything that was dedicated gluten free and it was a great place for us to try. It was in a fun location and they were great for dairy free as well….DF nachos and loaded fries.
Today I went to the front door right as they were starting to serve food at 11:30 AM and I was the only person in the whole place. I ordered the fish and chips and said I had a gluten allergy and he said I would be all set. It was delicious and came with a small cup of ketchup. I made sure to ask if the ketchup was also gluten-free because some of the ketchup here has barley in it and he said yes, it was GF! I felt very safe and excited that I could eat fish and chips.
There was a good range of gluten free options on the menu and most of the burgers were available gluten free on request. I ordered chicken wings and loaded fries which were lovely. The portion sizes were great, very filling. I didn’t feel sick afterwards also. My only issue was that we were seated in an area that seemed very squished and close to people. Otherwise very nice.
Great food so tasty! I had gluten free fish, chips & minted mushy peas. Came with ketchup and tartare sauce! It was all so tasty and had loads of flavour to it!
We then shared for desert gluten free brownie, hot chocolate sauce and chocolate chip ice cream. My partner had gluten free sticky toffee pudding with worthers original sauce and rum & raisin ice cream! Service was great! All staff knowledgeable. Would 100% recommend!
Excellent! Gf fish and chips were amazing. Menu was clearly marked and had many choices. Service was very good.
Great restaurant with accommodating staff! They had gluten free beer, bread, and many of the meals could be adapted to be gluten free even if they weren’t.
Waiter was very knowledgeable and clarified that my food was gluten free when it came out.
Just got a salad, but they had gf shepherd’s pie and a gluten free fish fry both of which sounded great.
Great menu options! Every single allergin possible was listed with a dose at the bottom of the menu. Staff didn't event blink twice when I asked for gluten free fish and chips. Portion size was great! Staff were knowledgeable- waiter even mentioned the ketchup was gluten free! 45 min later and I'm still feeling great so I'd go ahead and say this is celiac friendly!
I have celiac and came here for dinner on vacation. I ordered a rockshore cider and I got a rockshore lager after telling the waitress I have celiac and having her check the cider was GF. Unfortunately I got very sick from the gluten beer. I left right away and did not get to try the food. It was a bar tender error and they did not charge us for the drinks we had already ordered.
GF marked on menu. Available GF also marked for foods that can be modified. Knowledgeable staff. Food from 12 to 9 week days 12 to 8 weekends. I had a lovely fish pie and the chips are GF. They have Shepard’s pie, beef stew, fish and chips, Thai curry. Started Nachos, wings, soup, seafood chowder, tempura prawn, loaded fries. Desert, apple and mixed berry crumble, brownie and sticky toffee pudding. Sambos toasted ham and cheese and a melt. Full bar and they have GF beer, ciders wine etc.
Great food, service, and atmosphere! The food was excellent and completely safe. I had the fish and chips, which was already GF, and my wife had a chicken sandwich and onion rings. The waitress even proactively asked if she was celiac. Would definitely visit again.
I had an amazing experience at the Front Door when we visited Galway in March. The wait staff was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating of my gluten sensitivity and shellfish allergy. I was able to enjoy nachos, steak for dinner and dessert without any issues. I highly recommend checking out the Front Door.
