Standard meal. Disappointing that couldn’t have the gravy on the potatoes. But able to eat whatever meat and sauces we want. Brisket was really dry compared to other people’s meals. Not sure if they keep GF separate due to cross contamination and then just reheat. When getting the dinner plate we asked for the cornbread and onion straws on the side for the non GF people. Was able to eat without getting sick but wouldn’t go again.
Food was truly delicious and reasonably priced. Our waitress was knowledgable and helpful with ordering. Unfortunately one of the GF meals we ordered came out with non-GF cornbread and onions strings. They immediately took it back and made a fresh plate and apologized. Nice thing about BBQ restaurants is that they food is already prepared so we didn't have to wait a long time for the replacement plate. None of the celiacs in our group had any reactions. Great atmosphere. Would definitely go back.
Be careful of the fries. A waitress told me that the meat and sauce was gluten free but the sides could be cross contaminated. That should have been a red warning sign to me but I was newly diagnosed and I didn't know what I was doing. I ordered the fries and felt sick afterwards. I'm a bit disheartened by my last visit there because this used to be one of my favorite restaurants.
The "pulled" meat is chopped. And my pork was literally just chunks of fat. As if they don't trim the meat and they gave me end cuts of pure fat. On the plus side, the BBQ sauce was tasty though the mustard based one was a bit overpowering with vinegar. The mashed potatoes were delicious and needed no butter. But the sad thing is, the best part of the meal was the baked beans.
