I had the shrimp and grits. It was really rich and really delicious! They had quite a few GF options. Our server didn’t seem to take my GF concerns too seriously and I had to ask him to be sure to clearly mark my food as GF. He said he would, but still didn’t seem to exude confidence. Thankfully I ate well and didn’t get sick, but I could see how it would be possible for there to problems due to just a lack of seriousness regarding GF.
The food itself was excellent, but I would be careful with the waiters and making sure they write down gluten free. My food originally came out not on gluten free toast but the kitchen did remake it for me completely on gluten free bread. They have lots of options, our waitress just wasn’t fully writing down any of our orders so just make sure to advocate for yourself and you should be fine!
We came here for breakfast and had a great experience. We told the waitress that we had 3 people with Celiac Disease and she said the general manager also has it and seemed very knowledgeable. We found out they also served dinner so we came back the next night. Told the waitress the same thing, that we had 3 people with Celiac Disease. My salad came out with bread on the side which was not gf (not a huge deal) but then my dad took a bite of his sandwich and he said it was too good. Waited for the waitress to come back to check it was gf and she said it wasn't. We told her she needed to make a completely different patty and that they couldn't just put it on a new bun. She came back within 2 minutes with the same exact patty on a gf bun. I was extremely upset that this would happen at such a good place for gf. Be careful and make sure your server writes down gf!
Easily the most disappointing food experience in Nashville. Staff was incredibly rude. They don’t start making your online order until you get to the store (so there’s no point in online ordering) and tell them you’re there, did not label any of the coffees, and told us to just “taste them to figure out what’s what”. Not exactly friendly for those with dairy allergies in our group. GF “toast bread” was not toasted and fell apart immediately, worse than the usual GF bread. Sausage patty was a 2 inch burnt puck. Did not end up eating my $11 breakfast sandwich
I just got back from this place. They have GF items and they are identified on the menu, BUT, in some instances that means a GF substitution must be made. Case in point, the biscuit sandwich. It has the GF symbol on it; however, it actually means that you'll need to substitute the biscuit for GF bread. I was so excited to eat a biscuit that wheb hen it came out I forgot to confirm it was GF. I ate a small piece with jam and let me tell you, it was heaven on earth. Of course, it wasn't GF.
My server apologized for not noticing I had ordered an item not GF and said she would take it ot off the bill. By the time she walked away, I was already starting to cough and have a hard time swallowing. I'm sure the people on either side of me were as freaked out as I was. It would have been nice if someone would have at least checked on me, or refilled my water but that wasn't the case. Luckily, I didn't need to use my EpiPen, but afer more than an hour I am still not back to normal. I rated 3 stars because the food was decent. At the end of the day I guess it was my own fault but at the same time I don't think I'll be returning. (and yes, I had told my server about my allergy)
Good breakfast. GF items are clearly labelled on the menu, though the server didn't really seem to know that. Note that items are prepared in a shared space.
A number of 'standard' breakfast items the person I was traveling with weren't available.
All okay, but a bit haphazard.
NOT celiac friendly. They grill the gf bread on the same flattop as the non gf bread. When I asked how the bread tastes the waiter said "cakey." Ended up only being able to eat a salad and I'm still a little nervous for cross contamination. Don't bother with this place.
Edit: went inside to see if the gf muffins were safe. They were sitting in a glass case DIRECTLY next to the non gf muffins. Nope! I wouldn't even trust this place if I only had a gluten allergy.
Staff was pretty knowledgeable...they had GF toast to sub for regular bread but the server said it was toasted on the grill which may come in contact with their baguettes. So I decided not to take a chance of contamination and instead I opted for the quinoa bowl (minus the pesto which apparently contains gluten) and added an egg. It was ok...not super flavorful, but fine. The elderberry elixir drink was awesome...definitely the highlight!
We came to this location twice on our recent trip to Nashville. I eat gluten free for health reasons and Frothy Monkey was awesome! They have tons of options clearly labeled on the menu. Their gluten free bread is delicious and they were very accommodating. I did not get sick either time and felt very comfortable eating here!
Gluten free sandwiches. The PMP is amazing. I wish they had more gluten free sides
