This place is amazing!! Husband and I each had the All American breakfast. He got the potatoes and I got the grits so we could try them both and we were so glad we did because everything was delicious including the gf biscuit that comes with! We also ordered a gf pancake to try and I didn’t love it. I think it’s made with almond flour, which I don’t enjoy the texture of. It was nice and fluffy though! We both enjoyed our lattes as well - definitely adding this place to our favorites!
Staff is very knowledgeable and they are excellent about avoiding cross contamination. This is not a dedicated gluten free space but they do have a prep area in the kitchen they keep gluten free. This is my go to breakfast spot. Food is very tasty. I much prefer Fuel over Tin Shed for food and also for how serious they take celiac disease.
Update: very rarely I seem to have a slight reaction here
Went here for an early Thursday morning breakfast and practically had the place to ourselves. The staff was knowledgeable and said "celiac" was the magic word and they would take care of everything. We had a breakfast sandwich and mushroom spinach benedict which were both great. They also mentioned they have a dedicated GF waffle iron. No reactions after eating there.
Plentiful gluten-free options, amazing gluten-free biscuits, friendly staff. I enjoyed Grits in the Garden with a gluten-free biscuit on the side. They just started having g-f waffles, but they are not printed on the menu yet.
They do not have gluten free pancakes or waffles. That being said, they do have a lot of gluten free options and their menu is varied. We had the breakfast platter and the grilled cheese, both gluten free. The grilled cheese was really incredible and the bread was good and had a focaccia type texture but was lighter. The breakfast sampler was decent. The fresh fruit was great, as was the bacon and the gluten free biscuit. The eggs (scrambled) and rosemary potatoes needed salt but were otherwise cooked well. Great place to eat.
Knowledgeable staff that are very friendly and welcoming. Great coffee and fun Portland vibe. I have Celiacs and dairy intolerance. I told the waitress and she had no problem making suggestions. The menu says gluten and vegan options so you know what's safe to eat. substitutions can be made. I recommend it for people with Celiacs.
