Everytime I go here, they say nothing is really safe. When I ask if they are just saying that for legal reasons, they say no nothing is really safe.
We stood in line forever and when we were ordering she had no clue about gluten free and said you can have jalapeños and sour cream. Will not be back.

I had a great experience. I called and spoke with the staff prior to going. I had a shredded chicken salad with no tortilla strips and avocado ranch dressing. They noted on my order that I had a severe wheat allergy and to change gloves. Salad was delicious and I didn't have any issues.
This location has a dedicated fryer for their chips!!! But ask because not all fuzzys do :( I started getting sick and not knowing why. They had changed their fajita chicken seasoning and it has gluten in it. It use to be marked safe but they changed it months ago and I didn't know. We still love this place I just only eat the chips and cheese now.
Well to start things off, the cashier was unknowledgeable of their menu that he serves everyday to people. We explained that we have serious gluten allergies and the cashier scoffs. After hemming and hawing back and forth what is safe for my wife and I to consume we finally realize that their chips are gluten-free but once they drop them in the fryer it is consider cross contaminated after the fact because they fry everything else that contains GLUTEN. Staff here I would consider Retarded to a small scale but definitely not the brightest I’ve came across traveling across Country. They also like to play games in the kitchen area where the food is meant to be prep and ready for the consumer. I highly recommend eating the trash in the dumpster out back rather than wasting time nor money here at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. Location Columbia MO. 132 S 9th St. 65201 :)
Rude staff. Allergen list claims chips are gluten free when they are fried in a shared fryer. Very annoying college frat boy atmosphere. Would rather eat my own toenail clippings than subject myself to the horrible music and arrogant atmosphere again.
Brisket nachos no shredded cheese was really good! The cashier noticed the kitchen I have a gluten allergy. No celiac reaction after leaving. They have a gluten allergy informational resource behind the counter.
We went when it wasn't busy. The manager said they could prepare some items for celiacs, but he wasn't knowledgeable about cross-contamination. They don't really know what food is GF there. He handed me a complicated laminated chart that could mislead someone into thinking they could eat the crispy tacos. He said the cooks were careful with allergans, so I talked to them right after the counter clerk entered our tacos/refries/rice order (which had no special notation on it about restrictions). The worst things were that the brisket was waaaay too salty and the tacos were buried under mountains of iceberg lettuce. The taste wasn't worth the time educating the manager and staff!
Delicious food with lots of gluten free options, as well as vegetarian for us. Staff was very helpful and friendly even though it was a really busy evening. The line was out the door but moved quickly so don’t be deterred if you see a crowd!
They are very knowledgeable and will walk you through the menu. Always tastes great and I haven’t had any reactions after eating there.
These guys are fabulous. The are fast and friendly. We are regular customers and they have been great to try to get to know us and what we like to order. They usually anticipate what we are going to want. (A nice perk.) If you are a local, repeat customer, they have a discount for you.I always enjoy the Queso Blanco (purchased). And the Fuzzy dust is a nice addition to the bottomless chips (complimentary).There are several options to choose from. And as a gluten free customer, there are plenty of GF options for me as well, including the fried potatoes as a side.If you are celiac, this probably isn't the place for you as there isn't a dedicated cooking area for gluten free.
Fuzzy’s has an allergen list and offers a wide variety of gluten-free options. I always order brisket tacos on corn tortillas with Mexican rice and refried beans. Always confirm the order!!!
I have been there twice and neither time did I get sick. Had their tacos ( beef and chicken) enchiladas ( cheese and beef) and chips and queso. All of it was delicious. I have not tried it yet but they do have a breakfast menu. Can not wait to try it. Thank you Fuzzy's!
DO NOT EAT HERE. I wish I could give this zero stars. Staff (including manager) told me that the corn tortillas and chicken were safe. Told me that the allergen button on the register would alert the kitchen to being careful. I was violently ill within 30 minutes. They clearly did not change their gloves or clean the surface like they promised they would. After calling and alerting them of my reaction, they did not act like this was a big deal at all or agree that further training was needed in the kitchen. Super disappointing because the Iowa City location was wonderfully safe. Sadness.
Specifically told them I could not have gluten because of celiac. Explained I've had seizures before from it as well. The staff acted like they understood. Got half way through my taco and realized they had given me flour after I specifically said corn. When I brought it up to them they did not seem sincerely apologetic at all.
Wonderful menu with all allergies listed on their website, even listed out yeast (my son is allergic) which is usually impossible to find out without a huge hassle. I get very sick if I eat gluten but have never been sick here and have been multiple times. They get a seal of approval from me!
There's a gluten free menu, which is awesome. There are quite a few choices. The main thing to know is that you can't have anything fried; not even the crispy tacos or tortilla strips in the salad. The fryer is shared and would be cross-contaminated, but the soft tacos are made with corn and cooked on the grill. Make sure to let them know about any allergy so they can cook on a separate part of the grill. I always tell the cashier I have celiac disease, and they let the kitchen know to make sure nothing is contaminated!
This location doesn't have a separate gluten free menu like the Bricktown location, but they have a personal fryer for just their corn tortilla chips. I would always ask to make sure there is no contamination. There is supposed to be a dedicated fryer for chips which makes the tortilla chips celiac friendly. I have yet to ask if I could fry potatoes separately, but I suppose that could be possible as well. The soft corn tortillas are to die, and I always ask for no chips on my salad!
I got sick eating here twice. Even though they say some of their food is safe, it's not. I would only eat food here if you aren't celiac
I was a little worried. The person taking my order had to ask others several questions and like another reviewer said, there is no GF menu at this location. The awesome thing is that the cook knew exactly what was and was not GF. He thankfully made my taco with shredded chicken and NOT the fajita chicken I ordered. It's not GF. I didn't have a reaction - OH YA! I''m not sold on this location though...a little skittish. By the way, it was quite tasty!
One of my favorite places to eat. Gluten feee guide for the menu that's easy to read. The food is amazing. They have never gotten my order wrong in regards to allergens. I eat here all the time. Definitely try the crispy shell grilled shrimp tacos. They are heaven!!
Allergen menu listed online, and they have a version at the front counter (one online is easier to navigate). The manager came out when he heard me asking about allergies. He reviewed what I planned to order to ensure it was all safe for my wheat allergic son. He had the kitchen clean the grill and use new utensils. We ended up not getting chips, nachos, or crispy tacos since they're fried in contaminated oil, as advised by the manager. Food a little salty, but from gluten-free perspective, it was a good experience.
The store in Denton was great so I went to this one near me a couple of times. Went for lunch one day and the chef was obviously put out that I asked for GF and I had a bad Gluten attack after. I may never eat there again, it's been a year n half since I did.
