The staff were able to suggest some gluten free modifications to menu items and happy to offer a few with no additional charges. There were no gluten free indications on the menu, no cider or gluten free beers were available. The lunch I ate was very generous and good value.

my experience was different from other reviews...expensive ($25US for a main and sparkling water, with tip) and not fantastic lunch that didn't fill me up. i was offered a menu in english but when i asked for gluten free i was not given a gluten free menu. instead my nice waitperson pointed out 3 main dishes and said that was all that would be gluten free. there were some starters (no salads) that probably would be GF but were above my budget so i just ordered a main dish of river trout with risotto in wine sauce. it was good but not special and as there were no sides it was not really a full meal. the ambiance was charming, as many traditional salzburg restaurants are, and service was adequate.

We told them we needed gluten free and they asked what we would like and they would modify or tell us if it was GF. they had GF soup, several entrees and the holy grail of Salzburg desserts-nockerl. The food was great.
