The fried chicken was GF and fried in a separate fryer. Most all the meat was GF. Celiac with no reaction to the baked potato with pulled pork and the fried chicken. The chicken was amazing!! Our server was helpful in navigating the menu.

BBQ is always a great option for our family with one celiac kid. While not the best BBQ we’ve had, it was still very good. The GF fried chicken (cooked in a separate fryer) is the star of the show and I’d go back just for that. I would note that we arrived at 5pm on a Saturday and it was bumping with diners and a bar scene. It only took 10 minutes to get a table, but I can see it being very busy at times.

This place is hopping with a great staff. My daughter and I are GF sensitive. The menu is marked with GF items. She had the fried chicken with a loaded baked potato, I had a baked potato topped with brisket. Food was excellent, and we felt fine afterward.

River House BBQ in Montana offers a delightful experience for those with dietary restrictions like celiac disease. I recently enjoyed their pork tacos with corn tortillas and coleslaw, emphasizing my condition. The staff was accommodating, ensuring a safe and delicious meal. The diverse menu showcases thoughtful options, making it a fantastic choice for those seeking gluten-free choices in Montana.

The fried chicken was amazing! Cornmeal-based crust and fried in dedicated fryer. Both my kiddos have celiac and were SO happy to be able to eat fried chicken. No one felt sick afterwards. Very friendly staff. We did arrive about 3p when they opened. Large place - still some open tables when we left about 4:30.

Ordered the fried chicken. It is with a cornmeal base with no gluten. In its own fryer. Cost $7 for 3 pieces and beans, corn and slaw. The manager walked me through the menu. So good. The cornbread is not gf. Great place. Super crowded so get there when they open at 3pm or plan on waiting at least one hour.

Went twice!!! Got the fried chicken to go and played pool while we waited. Celiac son ate all 8 pieces and loved every bite!!

I’m extremely sensitive to gluten and dairy. I’ve ate here three times with absolutely no reactions. Everything is very clearly marked on the menu as DF GF. The fried chicken is marked not dairy free, we asked though and they double checked, it was a typo. The fried chicken is gf and df. I had the tri tip tacos, brisket, fried chicken, broccoli and a plain baked potato. Be aware, there are no substitutions. If you can’t have one thing in a meal because of your dietary restrictions they will not substitute for free. They will charge you full price for the other item on top of your meal. I recommend ordering à la cart because of this.
UPDATE: I had a pretty severe specifically dairy reaction to the fried chicken. I didn’t have my gluten reactions to the chicken. They swore it and the oil was DF but that batch, at least, definitely had cross contamination.

All I can say is gluten free, dairy free fried chicken! My husband had brisket that was also gf and says it was some of the best he's ever had and were from NC ..bbq country! Chef even came to the table and spoke with me.
Awesome place! Our server was knowledgeable about Celiac and told us not to order the baked beans because they are made with soy. Fun atmosphere with outside entertainment, cornhole, horseshoes and space to run around.
This place was amazing! The BBQ was really good and the waiter was knowledgeable about all of the menu items that are gluten free. The prices were remarkably low for being in a mountain ski resort area.
Yes
Their BBQ sauce is gluten-free which makes the beef brisket or pulled pork plate a fabulous choice. no gluten-free bread, but my meal came with sides of beans, corn and coleslaw so it was plenty filling and extremely good!
