The waitress was very knowledgeable about what was gluten free and what wasn’t. She advised me to get nothing tempura and that drunken noodles used oyster sauce so they couldn’t make it gluten free. They were able to do pad thai gluten free. And I got cucumber sushi which was gf and gf soy sauce. No bad reaction but I’m not sure how they are about cross contamination.
The food was very good, however, I got glutened. Thankfully, not severely. I told my server about my intolerance and asked him to ask the chefs to clean their preparation area for me. We made the proper modifications to my roll, and substituted the soy paper for regular seaweed. I ordered the Manhattan and sashimi. When I received my order, there were pieces of fish roe on various parts of my plate, when I didn’t order anything with fish roe. That was a bad sign and already signaled cross contamination. Also, the service was strange. The waiter came to our table and asked what we wanted to order, without taking our drink orders first. We ordered edamame as an appetizer, hot tea, and our meals. The first item that came to the table was someone’s roll. After that, we received our tea and edamame. After another 20 minutes, my food came. I guess it’s not absurd because the place was insanely busy and uncomfortably loud. My party and I had to yell to hear each other, and resorted to silence for most of our meal. So, overall, the food was pretty good, and the fish was very fresh. I enjoyed my meal, but not so much what happened afterwards.
