I have been here twice.
First time, staff assured us that the chips, salsa, bean dip and tostada ordered were gluten free.
After I started eating, waitress came out and told me the chips were fried in the same oil as flour tortillas, the bean dip had gluten and the rice seasoning contained gluten. I was so sick for hours!
I decided to give it another shot.
Second visit, I asked multiple times about what contained gluten and the waitress was sweet, she went and verified with the chef many times.
I ordered carne asada street tacos with just meat and corn tortilla and double portion beans as the rice had gluten. I did not get sick the second time.
We called the Restaurant first, asked to speak either to a manager or Chef. We spoke with the Chef. He went through a brief review of what he could make gf. He stated the chips were not gf, fried in the same oil as flour containing items, but the salsa was gf. He stated to let him know as soon as we arrived, and he would cook some hot oil to fry us some fresh safe chips!
We went and Ivan, the manager came to talk to us. He went through the menu options. No beef. No cheese (they shred it and mix it with flour to keep it from clumping). But we could have tacos and fajitas and soup and salads (with modifications). No gluten free menu, but he was knowledgeable to know what we could have. We ordered the Chicken and Shrimp Fajitas. They were very good. The chicken is grilled separately than the other chicken. So I needed some salsa to spice it up! The chips were fresh and hot and very good! Good corn tortillas.
We enjoyed our meal. Best part is that I didn't get sick (very sensitive). Ivan came out to make sure our meal was appropriate and everything turned out great. I felt they did a good. The rice and beans are GF also. We will be back.
Thank You
Flavor was so bland. Also got very sick. Definitely will not go back.
Very knowledgeable about celiac and will accommodate for people with celiac. Monique and Ivan guided me toward a wonderful meal. 5 star service and 5 stars for knowledge of menu.
I had a really good experience here. The waiter we had was extremely professional and a good server all around. He accommodated all diet restrictions without any judgment and was always cheerful. I was worried about getting sick still but I feel fine and I had our meal 3hrs ago. Also the meal with cheap!
I’m happy some people have good experience. However I decided not to eat here. The manger/owner brushed me off when I asked about gluten free options. Only one of waitresses spoke English enough to understand me. She came off very aggressive and treated me like a burden. Said everything was gluten free with corn tortillas. Including the chips which when I asked were actually not gluten free. When I told the waitstaff I appreciate the help but I didn’t feel comfortable eating here. I was met with attitude and eye rolling.
Ask for the Gluten Free menu, wait staff was very knowledgeable, water server not so much.
