This is a must for Vienna on a nice day. Beautiful outdoor seating. The staff is very knowledgeable and the menu is clearly marked. We had the gluten free schnitzel as well as a regular schnitzel at our table and in the taste test the gluten free won hands down. Don’t skip the deserts.

Off the beaten path, but definitely worth the trip!! Great GF and not GF food. The environment is great too. I got the veal schnitzel and side salad (which came with different salad surprises on the plate too). My dish had a GF flag.

Like many restaurants, the menu has all allergens identified in each dish according to an accepted codex which is really handy. Staff were very knowledgeable and marked my dish clearly with a little ‘GF’ flag. Amazing. Although I am celiac, I can tolerate the GF beer here which is either enzymatically treated or made with a ‘special process’ so I imbibed but beware there is wheat and or barley in most gluten free beer here.

I ate there many times before (at the restaurant and takeaway) always signed glutenfree to calm down all the scared ones (Like me 😅) The price is suuuper fair! Upon my first time eating there I asked if the food was really gluten free not just the ingredients They told me they have a part in the kitchen that is just for gluten free food including kitchen utensils Best restaurant for GF Austrian food in Vienna if you ask me!!!!

Recommend making a booking, they were fully booked when we arrived but squeezed us in. I am so glad they did! There is a separate GF menu and the staff are knowledgeable. The schnitzels were of course huge, so was disappointed I didn't have room for dessert. Service was quick and friendly.

Lovely small gasthaus with own gluten free list deep-fried snitzel made from veal/pork/chicken. House potato salad was terrific. Two choices beer one lager and one wheat (this is two choices more than usually in Vienna bars).

Service was good and the meal with gf was flag so you noticed.

Unfortunately I had a bad experience here. 2 hours after the meal I realized I ate gluten and vomited the whole evening. I ordered a gluten free Schnitzel with potato salad and dessert, but I think some plates were mixed up.

Great restaurant with gluten-free starters, main dishes, desserts and beers, everything listed on a separate menu. The kitchen staff marks the gluten-free dishes with flags so the service staff can serve them safe and correctly.

We had a lovely evening in the beer garden of Nestroy; the staff was very friendly and mindful.

Amazing gluten free schnitzel. They had a gf menu, and each meal came with a gf flag. This came highly recommended, and I can see why. My husband tried mine, and said it was very close to his regular schnitzel with texture and flavor.

Blown away. I had a Gluten Free Wiener Schnitzel with the best gluten free beer. The staff are knowledgeable and well trained. Absolutely recommended! In fact, if you’re coeliac and you’re in Vienna, you’d regret not giving it a try. In addition, it’s full of Austrian charm and Viennese hospitality.

Great, simply great. Very nice place, prices just 1€ over the food with gluten. You should book before, the beergarden is always booked out. We will come again.

They have their own area in the kitchen where gluten free dishes are breaded and cooked and they have their own fryer for that. I had a Cordon bleu and a Kaiserschmarrn, both were delicious. I can only recommend it, especially if someone wants to try gluten-free Austrian home cooking.

Superb Austrian cuisine with a gluten free menu and much awareness about contamination. For those allergic to wheat: The bread crumbs used for the fried meat/fish dishes (such as Schnitzel) contain gluten free wheat starch. So the majority of dishes are gluten free but not wheat free. I ordered the Parisian Schnitzel (made with gf flour and egg, without crumbs), asparagus soup and pancakes. Big portions and delicious.

Second time we’ve eaten here and second time we’ve been very satisfied. The service was attentive. The atmosphere is typical Gasthaus but the upkeep is rather nice. There are tablecloths on all tables with mini candles. There is a separate GF menu in German and English. The schnitzle is delicious as are the berries that come with it. My husband enjoyed his regular meal just as much. Will come here again!

Zum zweiten Mal haben wir hier gegessen und zum zweiten Mal waren wir sehr zufrieden. Der Service war aufmerksam. Die Atmosphäre ist typisch Gasthaus, aber der Unterhalt ist ziemlich nett. Auf allen Tischen gibt es Tischdecken mit Minikerzen. Es gibt ein separates GF-Menü in Deutsch und Englisch. Das Schnitzel ist köstlich, genauso wie die Beeren, die dazu gehören. Mein Mann hat seine normale Mahlzeit genauso genossen. Werde wieder hierher kommen!

I ate here a few times. It's not the most charming place - very old school Austrian interior. In summer, you can sit in tbe garden outside which is quite lovet. They have a separate GF menu with plenty of choices of Austrian dishes, incl. Schnitzel and desserts. The food arrives with a cute "glutenfrei" flag, tastes good and I was fine every time so seems to be safe.

I have been twice and not had a reaction, but my friend who also has celiacs was served the wrong schnitzel and got very, very sick. It is risky. If you want to try gf Austrian food and be 100% safe, I recommend Zum Wohl.
