My celiac daughter ordered the pimento cheese sandwich on GF bread with no fries (since they are not fried separately). Was given a sandwich on regular bread with fries. We sent it back and got the cobb salad which was ok. I wanted to like this place but not celiac safe in our experience.
A great informal dining space with very good food and GF-knowledgeable waitstaff.
1) I had a truly great fish taco (grilled fish, corn tortilla), but there were several more good choices I could have gone with.
2) Even better, my wife ordered the special, which included a local sausage. I asked our waiter if he could find out whether or not it was GF, in case I wanted a bite. To my surprise, he already knew that the sausage was not GF.
3) They have Omission beer!
They don't have a gf menu but have gf bread and will work with you. I had sausage and peppers on GF toast. I had hoped to get GF fried chicken based on a previous review but they don't have a dedicated fryer, so the chicken would have been cooked in oil with gluten food. For that same reason I couldn't have the French fries. The waitress also said that the corn tortillas were made locally in a facility that also makes flour tortillas and that she couldn't guarantee that they didn't have gluten in them. So as far as getting GF food there, your best bet is one of the sandwiches/burgers on GF bread.
wonderful date night dinner. heirloom salad and the pile in gluten free glory. hubby and I split both and were full when we left. we sat at the bar and the staff were great.
This place is great! They can make the fried chicken GF by using cornstarch, and the servers are very accommodating and helpful! They also have great fish tacos that are grilled and they will provide corn tortillas. Everything is so fresh and delicious!!!
They have gluten-free cider, GF beer and by request they have Whole Foods GF bread that they can use to make any sandwich.
This restaurant is incredible. There is no gf menu, but the owner's wife has Celiac and the servers were very knowledgable. I had the pork chop with mashed potatoes, roasted apples, and arugula. My husband had the tamale with black beans. All was amazing, local, and fresh. Well worth a stop!
