my family decided to come to this restaurant since my mom had a gift card here. before we went to the restaurant i called before hand to ask if they had any gluten free options and they mentioned how the salmon and steak are. (if you get the steak it comes with fries which were i belive cross contaminated so dont risk it. my sister ordered it and i felt sick after trying one!) when we arrived i wanted to confirm that the salmon and steak were both gluten free and our amazing and sweet server shannon confirmed with the chef! if you go to this resturant i really hope shannon is your waitress because she is super kind and understanding of gluten allergies and even my moms shellfish. she even made sure to tell the chef i have a gluten allergy so they wont cross contamination anything! so i decided to order the salmon and it was so good. it came with fresh greens and i felt no pain at all. overall the salmon/my dinner was amazing. i really recommend going here!
My daughter is celiac and has a dairy allergy. The server didn’t know too much so she proactively sent the manager over to answer our questions and also spoke to the chef to confirm.
There is not a lot on the menu that’s gluten free and the menu does not have any allergen indicators.
My daughter ordered the fish tacos and said they were really good. They bring in their corn tortillas and taco shells as well as tortilla chips from another local restaurant (Galaxy), they were all gluten free and tasted good.
I hate to leave this review because we have heard such amazing things. We are at the ocean terrace. We called ahead about needing gluten free for celiac disease. Spoke to the waiter about cross contamination. Our mussles arrived with a pile of bread on them and our braised ribs which we were told would have boiled Brussel spouts so they would be GF came out seared. I decided to test it with my Nima tester and 2 times the meal came back as gluten found. I gave it a 2 star and not one because they took our complaint very seriously and were very concerned.
Amazing views and great food! They have a ton of GF items. I got the ceviche and chocolate dessert. The dessert was incredible!
Staff was super accommodating and helped in recommending what they could do that was gf. The cake is gluten free already and the bomb! Gotta try it. Highly recommend. Just tell them you have celiacs and you'll be in good hands.
They were incredibly accommodating to my allergy. The waitress told me at the beginning of my meal that the warm chocolate cake was gluten free. Of course I ordered it. The cake was so amazing that I stopped eating it- because surely it had flour- and double checked with the waitress. She assured me it was gluten free, and even talked to her pastry chef to find out what the ingredients were. She wanted me to feel comfortable enjoying it. I thought that was incredible. I recommend this spot.
Insanely good food and pretty much everything except the pasta and the calamari can be GF food. The staff were awesome and addressed all needs. Location is amazing and this spot just can't be beat. A must eat!
Having such beautiful weather in San Diego has made George's at the Cove one of my favorite restaurants with gluten free menu options and an ocean view, especially at sunset. Not only does the menu change based on what's in season, there's always plenty of gluten free options and substitutions that can be made with other menu items. At George's, the staff and kitchen are always careful about making sure anyone with food allergies or intolerances feels comfortable eating the food they've ordered. I'm extremely sensitive when it comes to cross contamination with gluten, and I've never gotten glutened at George's.
Incredible. Food and the view were top notch. Our server was very knowledgable of celiac. Also had an amazing chocolate dessert.
