The ambiance is great but after speaking with my waiter and explaining my celiac diagnosis he seemed to know very little about the requirements to avoid cross contamination or what even qualified as celiac safe. This point was only further proven when someone at my table quickly ordered a salad to share which happened to be a faro salad. The waiter failed to point out that it was not celiac safe both upon ordering and when he delivered it to our table. I was unsure what type of salad she ordered because I couldn't hear the ordering taking place which is why I was relying on the waiter who was told it was to be shared for guidance on what he understood to be celiac safe. It was only after the item was dished out onto my plate that I was able to identify that it had faro in it.

I ordered a gf pizza for myself and went into detail about preparation requirements to avoid cross contamination with the waiter. After much back and forth, placing my order, and waiting for the food to arrive, a different food runner brought out my pizza to the table along with another pizza for others that I was dining with. Both pizzas were gluten pizzas and thankfully I could tell there was no difference between the crusts and inquired with the food runner who was completely unaware that it was supposed to be a gluten free pizza and confirmed what I received was not a gf pizza crust. After sorting it out with the waiter, another gf pizza was prepared, requiring another long wait, and finally I was able to dine. To top it off, the waiter never apologized for the mistakes and did not comp a single item on the bill for the errors or the wait associated with their mistakes.

I will not be dining at via Mia again.
