Tested with Nina sensor and was gluten free yum!!
Delicious cupcakes! Not celiac safe! Gluten free cupcakes and regular cupcakes are kept in the same case in the Louisville store. The same bowls and utensils are used for both although there is no signage. Definitely cross contamination. If you are not highly sensitive, I highly recommend.
Gigi's in Louisville need to post a sign that they can't guarantee gluten safe. Cross contamination is possible. I was informed that Gigi's uses same mixing bowls/mixer used for gluten to mix gluten free mix. They just wash bowls in water & soap. Not safe for Celiac!
The GF cupcakes were amazing. We had the chocolate torte and there was absolutely NO texture difference! My 4 year old that doesn't have gluten issues even said mom this is the best!
multiple gluten free flavors every day now!! very delicious if craving sweets. they of course still bake regular, so they caution for severe allergies, but I have Celiac and have never gotten sick with a GiGi GF cupcake.
Yay! Gluten free Friday. Just need Monday -Thursday. :-)
Staff said that they bake GF cupcakes once a month and that it's announced ahead of time on Facebook. I tried to convince her to just keep them in the freezer.
Yes, their cupcakes are tasty and they have gf cookie dough... but it is NOT celiac friendly. They don’t have separate pans or mixers. They bake everything in a common area and will freely admit it’s not celiac safe if you ask. I guess at least there’s that.
Co worker kindly ordered 2 GF cupcakes. Sticker on the box says that the gluten-free are prepared on the same equipment as the regular cupcakes and they are not safe for celiacs! People should be warned when they order now she wasted money and I can't eat them. I'm getting myself one from Jones Bros so I don't feel left out.
Amazing gf cupcakes!! The chocolate one is flourless and the vanilla one is rice flour. The icing on the vanilla cupcake is equivalent to the hight of the cupcake it sits on! And is delicious! But so sweet I was not able to finish my part in one sitting. The chocolate one is like an amazing brownie. Great balance of icing and cake and a richness like a brownie. The cake is remarkably light for a flourless cake! Make the time to stop if you are in the area. You won’t be disappointed
We stopped here on a road trip to get something special for my daughter’s birthday. She got the GF chocolate cupcake in a cup and loved it. We also got GF strawberry cupcakes and they were delicious, too! Neither of my kids with celiac had any adverse reactions. Side note - the GF lunch at the (very) nearby Mellow Mushroom was also delicious with no ill effects.
While the choices are not extensive, this small cupcake shop does have two flavors of gluten free cupcakes to choose from. Although the manager could not guaranteed that the products were not cross-contaminated, she told us their process for making the cupcakes, and we felt comfortable in the safety of the cupcakes. The cupcakes (chocolate and wedding cake flavors) were both delicious, and we did not experience any adverse side effects. The bakery does place a sticker on the box stating that they cannot guarantee against cross-contamination.
Just alright cupcakes... I only go there when I need one right away. Cedar Park is by far wayyyyyyy better than Georgetown!!!
Very good gluten free cupcakes. They do not have a dedicated kitchen space that I know of, but I am celiac and have never had a problem. The GF menu is limited compared to their regular menu, but they will take a GF vanilla cupcake and put any flavor icing on it that you request. Delicious.
Had extra GF in back. ...frosted while waiting!! Staff were smiling, friendly & happy to be there! Will go back! Follow up: left msg for Mgr, no return call. Ordered 6: 1st one, got sick. 2nd one, got sick. Threw the rest out. Have eaten Gigi's for a few years (Love them), 1st time gluten-ed. Very disappointed; not too mention, expensive. Would have liked to have heard from Mgr. Be careful.
I have Celiac Disease and I did not get sick! Best cupcakes in the area :) highly recommend update: i got 2 cupcakes last night and i always just take one bite to see if I'll get sick. i experienced some brain fog symptoms. eat at your own risk. so 3 weeks ago i was okay, last night not so much. :(
Very helpful, I have a lot more allergies than wheat, the helpful guy behind the counter went as far as letting me read the ingredients for their flour by bringing the whole container from the back. Answered all my questions. Didn't get sick, will definitely be back.
Not a dedicated kitchen, but they do try to limit any risk for exposure. They offer gluten FRIENDLY, not gluten free. And they have a disclaimer clearly sitting on the case. We go there every couple of months and have never had any issues.
They offer three gluten free cupcakes each day. They are not specifically labeled but are in a special colored wrapper. When you ask they can tell you. I had a wedding cake cupcake. It was very moist, flavorful and the icing was good! It was not too sweet. Will visit again next time in town!
Gf cupcakes are way too sweet. The only Gf flavors they really have are chocolate, all they do is name them different things when they're really the same thing.
Had the lemon cupcake with lemon icing and it was glorious!
They used to have more seasonal flavors offer in GF. Now just the same dry chocolate torte and crumbly, flavorless wedding cake. Website shows other franchises may still bake seasonal offers in GF but can't get here.
