Just walked out. Waiter pointed to the veggie rolls and said that was the only GF thing in the store. I asked if they could make the other rolls with GF rice and was told no. He had zero interest in offering anything else-like even a piece of fish- for me to order and was unapologetic about it all. Considering only one other table in the restaurant, I don't get it. But ok :(
Authentic Japanese food and atmosphere, tatami room and sushi bar. Very large menu but nothing noticeably gluten free-when asked, the waitress was considerate and accommodating. Ordered sushi, very fresh. Was served with gluten free soy sauce. I had no celiac reaction from Ginza and enjoyed my time there.
I told the waitress I need gluten free sushi. The chef used a separate space to prepare the rolls, replaced imitation crab with real crab AND used different rice, as regular sushi rice has gluten (i had no idea!) They also left the pickled ginger off the plate and offer Tamari. I was so happy to eat great sushi with no worries.
