The waiter appeared to know quite a bit about some aspects of Celiac, having dated a women with Celiac Disease. But, he also displayed some uncertainty when he asked me if rice contained gluten. After a long conversation and a few trips back to the kitchen, the server informed me that my best bets were the fish meals. He knew enough not to recommend the spicy tuna sushi. I ordered the Caesar's Salad without croutons, but with broiled chicken. He added notes that I had an allergy. Unfortunately, when the salad arrived, it had croutons on it. I explained the problem to the fellow who delivered the salad and told him not to simply brush off the croutons. A minute later, a salad without croutons arrived. Of course, I have no way of knowing if it was the same salad, but I was skeptical. I ate it, didn't really enjoy it, but didn't get sick.
We’ve gone in the past but it’s been a few years so we called them and spoke to them. The mashed potatoes are NOT gluten free anymore. We were told pretty much the only thing safely GF is ribs, grilled fish, & steamed veggies. Employees in the past & now on the phone aren’t friendly & act irritated when asked about GF options.
Ask for Peter. He understand the whole Celiac / allergy thing ( separate pans utensils new gloves). We shared the baby back ribs w mashed potatoes and veggies and gluten free bread on the side. Throw in the water view and sports in the back ground= Pretty damn awesome. A little pricey for some items but portions were large and we split the entree. The mai tai tastes like Hawaii :)
The staff was very friendly and accommodating when I explained I was gluten free. They brought gluten free bread which was good and a special gluten-free menu. They were very efficient and we went at lunch. Great experience would go back!
Very expensive and not all that great. I had a halibut, which is my favorite fish, but somehow they managed to make it not all that great. Nobody in my family really felt that it was worth the price (they are not gluten free). They're menu was weird like the reviews say. They just said what wasn't gluten free. I wouldn't go back for the price.
Came here trying to eat quick. First thing it is only valet parking. Menu was not gluten free, but they could work around and did have gluten free buns for burgers, but no variety in types of burgers, just basic. Fries are not gluten free, substituted chips. Told they could do somethings with pasta and seafood but very limited. Burger was done wrong, twice, no apology - just a dirty look. Never even asked how it was. On top of everything, $16 for a burger that was wrong was a bit much.Hope that helps. 6/16/2013
