They serve udi's bagels, and the manager came out and told me they aren't celiac safe and contamination will most likely happen. An udi's bagel I can buy at the publix next door is not worth the risk. Don't understand the hype.
Lots of gf options! Huge omelette, delicious home fries, gf toast, bagels, pancakes, waffles. Great service! Stopped at noon and they were packed. Still in and out within an hour.
Visited twice while in Atlanta. Loved it. They can make any menu item gluten free. I had an omelet red peppers, mushrooms, and spinach with tomatoes on the side and a gf bagel with cream cheese. I've also had their salmon sandwich on a gf roll. When in Atlanta, I will be there.
What an excellent surprise to find GF bagels at my favorite Jewish deli in Atlanta! Bagels are a rare treat for use gluten free folk and Goldbergs does them right. They also have GF buns and bread for sandwiches and burgers. I wouldn't think it's celiac-safe due to the amount of high gluten breads around.
Horrible experience. GF bagel was wrapped in thin paper and put in bag with NGF bagels. They then pulled the bagels out to bag separately. Too late! Then hassle of refund and didn’t refund upcharge for GF bagel so had to remind them. All this while line is building and plane is departing. Didn’t apologize. If you desperately need something, purchase a packaged Udi’s bagel but don’t count on them to handle your food in any safe manner.
So happy to find this wonderful breakfast spot while traveling in Atlanta. I am gluten free and looking for a bagel with homemade cream cheese. I went in and the gentlemen told me they were out of gf bagels but the trick just came in. He took the time to go get them off the truck. What customer service! While the gf bagels are Udi’s brand the cream cheese is awesome! I had the strawberry (picture attached). Very reasonable for the price! Would definitely go back. Some of the friendliest people and you are well taken care of. I picked up at the counter but would go back to sit down.
They offer gluten free options but the kitchen staff is clearly not trained for safety. My server noticed they did not change their gloves for my meal as she had requested so she had them redo. (That I really appreciated!) Unfortunately I received my meal much later and the salad had croutons on it. While they offered to make another one (much quicker they said) at that point I figure it is just too risky and I left without eating. They just don't know what they are doing here so would not recommend for celiac diners.
I agree with what others have said about cross contamination. Furthermore, the pancakes are meh or meh+ at best
HALF PREGNANT - How else to explain this for anyone who cares about gluten. Goldberg's goes to great lengths to talk about its GF bagels (no GF bread). It even ranks highly in his app. However, ask if their cold cuts are GF and you find out they don't have GF meats and cheeses. How many who talk it highly here even asked if the meats were GF? The irony is, the nearby Boar's Head kiosk, which carries all GF BH products, doesn't offer a GF bread/wrap option. Madness!!!!
I was glad to find something for breakfast other than yogurt and fruit! The breakfast sandwich was great! They have Udi's bagels and cookies. I let them know I have an allergy, they changed their gloves and used clean equipment. They do not have separate toasters, but microwaved the bagel to warm it up a little.
They offer gluten free options but are not equipped to prepare foods gluten free. They are not a gluten free facility. I have celiac and the gluten free pancakes made me sick.
By Gate A16. Don't get too excited - the options are Udi's bread or prepackaged bagel. While nice in an airport, the bread was pretty stale (I.e., way more dry than normal) but the rest of the sandwich was good. Good snack options, like fruit cups and fruit/cheese cups. Pre-packaged chic chip or snicker doodle cookies
many gluten free options. very tasty gf bagels, waffles, pancakes, etc. my fave is the bagel with nova. be sure to tell them your specific needs including changing gloves, clean pan, not toasted, etc. I go there all the time and never had an issue. I am gluten intolerant. my friend with celiac has gone there once when visiting and enjoyed it and had no problems.
NEAR GATE A16: Udi's GF bread, bagels, muffins and cookies available. I ordered a bacon and egg bagel. The sweet lady working the counter asked if I had an allergy, explained they only have one toaster for everything and offered to heat my bagel in the microwave instead. I appreciated the extra effort. They also have a cold case with gluten free items clearly labeled. Soy milk is offered as a dairy alternative for coffee drinks.
9:05am on a Sunday morning...despite the big "Gluten-Free is Here!" sign in the middle of the concourse I am told "We are out of the gluten free bagels because they didn't order them." (side note: they were also out of plain bagels and croissants - obviously a problem in their ordering process). I was hungry and had limited time before my next flight and not a lot of other options, so I asked for just an egg and some bacon. Was charged for "Egg/Bacon Bagel @ $6.25" because they had no option for a single egg and a side of bacon. For $6.25 I received a single pre-cooked and rehydrated egg and a small pile of overcooked, re-heated bacon - all of which was flavorless. This restaurant is located in Terminal E. My inbound and outbound flights were in Terminal B. Next time I will just stay on the plane train one more stop to Terminal F and try French Meadow Bakery or the ever-reliable Ecco.
Great that they have the options, but the bread is toasted with regular bread
Fabulous gluten free choices! Buns were soft and delicious! Menu states that fries are GF, but are not due to shared oil- however, SO happy to find this gluten free option at The Avalon!
The gluten free bagel was ok. I don't think I'd get it again. I'm new to this whole gluten-free thing so I'm not sure how it is in comparison to other alternatives. Not bad overall. And I am excited to see waffles and pancakes on their menu.
Thank you Goldberg's for offering gluten free now (Dec 2014) The gluten-free bagel is fabulous! I had to confirm with the waiter the kitchen got the order correct. They also have gluten-free pancakes, waffles, sandwich bread or buns that I will come back to try. The waiter said all gluten-free items are made by their staff (not another food co). Possible cross-contamination in kitchen. So happy to hear this great deli is offering gluten-free.
