The staff was amazing. They have a dedicated fryer and wore gloves and cleaned prep area. They even have gluten free ice cream and cones! Their gf bread is amazing g as well. We came back twice!

After talking with the cashier I was told that many items aren’t GF they in fact don’t have a separate panini press and all they really had was gc hot dog buns and bread.

Ordered a chicken avocado panini and it was made in a separate area with a separate panini press. It was very delicious! Lots of menu choices. Took a while to get our food though. Wish I wasn’t too full for ice cream!

Our waiter was brand new and was very willing to answer our many questions, and if he didn't know the answer, he would go ask the manager. Most items on the menu can be made gluten free. I had a chicken philly gf panini, and was very impressed.

Basically anything can be made gluten free! Lots of selection for paninis and sandwiches, and they were so good! There were separate areas for gluten free, so everything was safe. Not all icecream is GF, but plenty of options anyway. They also have a GF cone, but they were out when we went.

Amazing selection of different sandwiches! Both my boys said this was their favorite place to eat on the island. Food was so good, we all got a different sandwich and loved them all. Very knowledgeable about Celiac!

Celiac here. I ALWAYS eat here when vacationing on Hilton Head Island. Lots of deli choices on gluten free bread. The burgers are amazing. Staff is super careful with CC. Highly recommend.

Ahhmazing! There are a lot of choices for gluten free (all Boar's Head meat/cheeses) and they totally understand cross contamination. There's a separate prep area for gluten free. My panini was fantastic and I finished it off with ice cream with a gluten free cone! First ice cream cone I've had since diagnosis 6 years ago! Highly recommend!

A must go. Great food and friendly staff. Fries share a fryer so aren't gluten free,but the have buns,breads,paninis as well as hamburgers and hotdogs. You ask for crispy bacon and you actually get it!

Delicious food, very friendly owner who has love for the GF community. Two types of GF ice cream cones and pretty much every meal option could be done GF. Highly recommend.

Great food and they were very celiac and gluten aware, even double checked with me on everything. Fries are made in the same fryer so depending on how sensitive you are, you may want to skip those. But when I was there they did say they changed the oil that morning.

Go in, sit anywhere, server will give you a menu. They have GF breads and can make almost any of their paninis for you. They have a separate panini press for the G F, Chili is great too. Service is fast and attentive.

Staff is knowledgeable and will go to the kitchen to clarify any concerns or questions. The gluten free options are extensive--sandwiches, paninis, hot dogs, wraps. Their sandwiches and paninis are fantastic!!

The place is a bit underwhelming. Staff not as knowledgeable as I would have hoped. Just a heads up, any ice cream with nuts in it contains wheat flour to float the nuts in the ice cream. I learned this after trying a sample of butter pecan. :/ Not many flavors to choose from when you exclude cookies and nuts so I just skipped the ice cream all together.

Food was good and the staff was knowledgeable about how to avoid cross contamination. We had no gluten reactions and enjoyed our experience.

Very frustrating experience. Very disorganized. No one seemed to know what was going on. Service was okay at best. Only one of our kids was served their meal they didn't make the other one. Instead of an apology the older woman I assumed was a manager said it was because we ordered cheese on the side? Didn't realize ordering a side of shredded cheese would cancel out my sons entire order. I received my side of coleslaw 20 min before my sandwich. My husband received his side of fries around the same time . A lot of teenage staff just standing around. Overall disorganized wait service.

However there was a large selection of GF items. The Reuben was okay. The manager was friendly, you could tell she was frustrated with her staff. She apologized. Probably won't go back though.

Munchies is a great spot for both celiacs and non celiacs. The food is so yummy and the owner is so nice. Very aware of all allergies with a separate panini maker and grill for gluten free items. the gluten free bread was the best I have ever had. I had the chicken avocado panini and it was excellent. They also have gluten free baked goods including chocolate chip cookies! Will definitely be returning here.

Stopped here to grab a sandwich for lunch. I had the chicken and mushroom panini. The mushrooms were canned, which was disappointing, but overall, the sandwich was good. The people who worked there were incredibly nice and helpful when I told them I was celiac. It cost $45 for lunch for myself and my two kids (panini, cheeseburger, club sandwich, 2 Sprites, a water). I think this is a bit expensive, but everything in Hilton Head is expensive, so it wasn't unexpected. I would recommend (but skip the mushrooms).

Got a hot turkey Apple melt, it was a good size. Food came out very quickly. I'm very sensitive and did not have a reaction. They did not understand that preparing fries in a shared fryer was not GF friendly just FYI so I passed on those. Other similar items are probably not safe to eat. Gluten free items are indicated on the menu. Seems to be a popular spot for tourists (like myself) you are supposed to seat yourself but people were gathering at the counter to review the menu, which is out of date. Would recommend if you are in the area. 3 1/2 stars.

Good GF choices. All sandwiches , wraps, and panini's can be swapped for a GF option so there were a lot of menu choices. They even have GF hotdog buns. You know how sometimes GF bread can be dry and hard to swallow? Well, my husband and I both ordered Reubens and the bread on my GF as moist and tasty! I would return again!

Amazing menu full of options, all available in gluten free bread or wraps!!! Plus they have GF ice cream cones, and are very knowledgable what you can't eat being GF. A must try!!

We absolutely loved this place! My wife is gluten free and we always love finding little places like this! My wife's "Rachel" sandwich was loaded with meat and homemade Cole slaw! Very tasty and delicious !!! We would absolutely recommend going there! Prices are reasonable for an area like hilton head so we didn't really see a problem there! Very accommodating staff and super fun little store! We will be returning on our next trip down here!!

Was very disappointed in the service and menu. I ordered a Greek wrap which stated it was grilled chicken. It came out with boars head chicken breast, normally wouldn't be an issue. However I am pregnant and can't eat cold lunch meat. Instead of them taking it off the bill we had to pay for it and then my additional order. My moms food said roasted chicken, it was just lunch meat chicken. Really disappointed

This place is absolutely amazing! They're gluten free on just about every item, with their own separate prep area. Plus the food is delicious. I highly recommend this place! They are a little pricey tho! We had 2 sandwiches, 2 hotdogs, and 2 chunks of chocolate covered peanuts and it cost us $53 something.

Definitely Celiac friendly. My teenage daughter had a panni and mocha chunk ice cream on a cone with no food reaction. Staff is absolutely knowledgable about Celiac. This our third vacation since our daughter diagnosis with this being the first without her getting sick.

Back again for another great meal. Food is great. Very knowledgeable about Celiac requirements. Had chocolate chip cookies that tasted just like homemade cookies my grandma would make me. Had some ice cream and took some truffles to go. Staff and Service were wonderful as usual. Always make me feel like I am special to make sure I get everything I need.

My family had a great experience here with my 13 year old who has celiac disease. The staff was knowledgeable and the menu had many different items to choose from. Great place to dine.

I had a wonderful turkey wrap. They are very gf friendly. I was asked if I had celiac disease when I ordered so they were extra careful to not contaminate my food. I ended my meal with a wonderful gf peanut butter cookie. I will go here again next time we are in the area. A little pricey but worth it.

Came back to MUNCHIES first thing when we arrived on Hilton Head. I LOVE THIS PLACE. The staff is super friendly and they make you feel like you come in everyday. The food is spectacular and the ice cream even better. You can tell this is my favorite place ever. I ordered something different this time and was not disappointed. I had a MUG of winter squash soup with a half of roast beef mushroom Panini. I could not believe it was GF. I ate every bite. Then came back the following day for more. This time I had the turkey pesto Panini and Italian wedding soup. My husband had the MUNCHIES Panini. He could not stop eating. They had four varieties of soup, which are all homemade, and we took some back to our condo for dinner. The only Bad Thing I can say is that I tried to get them to move MUNCHIES to West Virginia so I can have this wonderful food everyday and they thought it might be difficult. I am home now and missing them. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU NEXT YEAR MUNCHIES! lol

Best Gluten Free Restaurant my family has ever been to. Everyone is very knowledgeable about Celiac and Gluten Free options. They have an array of salads, paninis and wraps that ALL can be made GLUTEN Free. I am not one to write reviews, but after reading the one below I felt I had to. When I read the review I thought they had to be a competitor trying to steal business away by bad mouthing MUNCHIES. Their staff is GREAT, their variety is GREAT, their food is GREAT and most importantly everything is fresh. My family is Celiac and they felt that for the first time, they felt "normal" eating out. They had no issues and we went back numerous times. My wife loves the Lisas Panini which is Turkey, Cranberry, Brie Cheese and Pears on a special restaurant quality UDIs GF Bread. My kids like the wraps. Full of meat, cheese and the wrap actually tastes like a traditional tortilla. They only charge 50 cents for GF unlike most restaurants that charge upwards of 5 dollars. We also had their ice cream on GF cone, chocolate chip cookies, a brownie and a peanut butter cookie. ALL YUMMY. MUNCHIES is a MUST for everyone Gluten Free or Not! THIS IS WHERE THE LOCALS GO...the place is always packed.

We went here because of food allergies...hoping for a good meal. I asked if I could take the toppings that they use in one of the wraps and put it over one of their salads, since I can't have the gluten free bread they use. I was told yes, but then the salad came out without the chicken. I was told I would have to pay extra. It was a bit insulting to be asked to pay more, considering lettuce costs less than bread. My child couldn't order the taco salad, because they were out of chips and my husband's salad was presented with little cubes of chicken (not what I would consider "grilled chicken" as listed on the menu and a DEAD BUG. I know things happen, but there was absolutely nothing good about this place except for the great waitress. She was polite and apologetic. It was not the birthday meal I had envisioned and all of the food is way overpriced.

This place had incredible staff who were willing to accommodate in any way possible for those with gluten allergies. I ordered a make-your-own gourmet grilled cheese sandwich and it was delicious! They even offered gluten free ice cream cones and gluten free cookies! Overall amazing restaurant!

the BEST gluten free restaurant ANYWHERE!!!!! I had a grilled cheese with gouda, tomato, and bacon and tomato soup and then java ice cream in gluten free cone! they had everything!!! plus, everyone is incredibly nice. I LOVE THIS PLACE :)
