The gentleman who helped me was so nice! He thoroughly washed his hands, got a new bucket of ice cream out, and a brand new scooper out of a package! All Graeters locations will do this as they call them “allergy scoops”. Only some of their ice creams are gf and I’ve never had an issue with the ones that are! (you can buy gallons/pints that say gf right on the packaging, their website also lists gf next to the flavors)
I had looked ahead of time on the Grater’s website and they have a section listed of what’s gluten free. The worker was so sweet and gracious to double check for me. They asked the severity of my allergy and got a new scoop and new tub of ice cream to prevent cross contamination. It was so nice to have a little treat (other than vanilla ice cream) and enjoy the views of fountain square for my lunch break.
Had a great experience here! All of their gluten free ice creams are listed online with full ingredients list (my partner has a corn allergy so ice cream can be extra tricky for us). If you let them know you have an allergy/sensitivity they will get a fresh scooper, bowl from the back, and use a completely different tub of ice cream to scoop from! I was pleasantly surprised and really appreciated how easy it was to order since they already have a good allergy policy in place. There are no gluten free cone options but that was ok!
