Amazing chippy with lots of gluten free options available! They have a separate area in the kitchen, separate fryers and different utensils for gluten free food so the risk of cross contamination is low. The staff are all friendly and happy to answer any queries you might have. We spoke with the owners on our visit and they were both very knowledgeable with the gluten free risks and could reassure us that they take all precautions to avoid cross contamination. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
Best gf fish and chips anywhere and extremely good value... always hot and fresh...great friendly service... well worth driving for.
Fantastic, my first visit, and was looked after from start to finish.was shown menu with gluten free options, also informed they make GF pies 😁just have to ring ahead to let them know if we require one.i can't express how clean, very helpful the staff were.will definitely be visiting again has you can sit in also and beat of all they do GF desserts😁😁😍😍😍😍 definitely 5* and more rating from me
The best gluten free chippy and restaurant I've been to with a wide variety of food on the gluten free menu, it's very clean and the the staff are friendly, I wouldn't go to any other chippy. My non gluten free husband and family love the gluten free food on the menu they also love the food off the original menu. Me and my family highly recommend Green Lane chippy for their fresh, high quality and taste
Tasty, traditional, fish, chips and peas, plus pies, burgers, soup, prawns, calamari and more - gluten free! We had the fish, chips and peas and they were fantastic! The Green Lane Chippy features an old school carry out counter inviting you off the sidewalk with a lovely sit down restaurant adjacent. Those who require Gluten free know that GF can be as good or better than its non-gf counterparts and Green Lane does it very well! If you are visiting the Greater Manchester area or northwest of England in general, you’ll want to dine in or carry out at the Green Lane Chippy.
They fry all their GF food in the chip fryer which is kept totally separate from any other food or batter. The “normal food” has its own fryer. The staff seemed well clued up on GF but as with any team, it’s up to the individual to use the right equipment in each fryer etc
They do GF battered fish which is made with pulses for the batter. The rest is like a regular chippy which is GF. They make your sauces on their own and in their own pots too. The quality of the food was great, it tasted like chippy food! It obviously is a little different to regular fish but not so dissimilar
I was really impressed that the staff knew straight away the answers to my questions and they labelled all the gf food. Would be nice to sit in but glad they offer takeaway during COVID.
