After learning they had a dedicated fryer, I had fried pickles, fried onion rings and a Larkin burger. I haven’t had fried anything at a restaurant since being diagnosed eight years ago, except for fries from Red Robin. The food was good, no tummy issues, and I will return upon my next visit to the area.
Can I first say GLUTEN FREE! Thank you for having a dedicated fryer, my daughter finally had ‘real’ fries for the first time in a year! We came during a slower time, asked to eat outside, but the tables were dirty. I asked the hostess if it could be cleaned before we sat especially since there could be gluten on the table. She said absolutely and came right out to do that. Our server came over (I’m drawing a blank on her name), she was very kind and willing to take time to explain how gluten free items were made. Answered my questions about a drink special and when we asked if the strawberry shake possibly had gluten she even went back to check. Food was great, my GF daughter devoured her burger & fries! And the shakes. Wow! They’re huge and delicious. And I’ll say it again GLUTEN FREE! Thank you for offering these options that are SAFE to eat!
The food was great. They have dedicated fryers, grill and prep spaces. Ask for the manager when ordering. She was great to explain everything to us and put us at ease. However they need to do a better job of training their staff. Our server and the hostess were clueless about their prep and did very little to make us feel comfortable. Once we talked to the manager, we felt much better. They have a variety of gluten free options to choose from including fried items like pickles and onions!
I really wanted to like this place. The press is great and looking at the options on paper its got so much. The execution on the other hand was seriously meh... We ordered the pick 3 app(because I was super excited about fried food)fried pickles, fried onion rings, and fried green tomatoes. The breading fell off of each thing. The pickles and tomatoes were ok, nothing special. The onion rings were bad. They were hard and lukewarm. I ordered a build your own burger on a gluten free bun with grilled onions, mushrooms, garlic, and bacon cooked medium. It was more medium well and the edges were dry. There was 1.5 pieces of bacon and not much on the other toppings. My Husbands burger was also overcooked and dry. The worst part was I asked my server if the barbecue sauce was gluten free and he said he didn't know but could check. He walked 5 ft away and asked someone who told him they didn't know either because it was made in house. He then came and told me it had gluten in it after not checking the ingredients or actually finding out. I guess it was better than getting glutened, but still very disappointing. Also, it was hot and loud... Very disappointing for my Bday dinner..
Had burger with GF Udi's bun and sweet potatoes fries. Taste was average. Asked for manager who explained their glove changing protocol to prevent cross contamination. All fryers are GF which is nice. Did not get sick after which is main priority.
My waitress was very knowledgeable about Celiac, the atmosphere was really fun, and we all loved our food! Great burger and almost all the appetizers are gluten free, which meant I got to share sweet potato fries and fried pickles! I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.
We stopped here on our way through town specifically because they have GF options...Nothing to brag about. Bison burger was overlooked, but not enough to complain. My wife had a severe gluten allergy and they have plenty of GF options. If you want to pay an extra $2 for a GF bun that falls apart and rubbery chicken then Grill Marks is for you!
They have gluten free fried pickles and yum! they also had gluten free buns available for all of the burgers for just a $2 upcharge. The buns were better than most. My family enjoyed their gluten-filled food. Also, the atmosphere is so cute. There was great live music when I visited! :)
The Grill Marks in Greenville is much more consistent. I love this place for the fried options!! But we have also noted (as someone else stated) that the burgers are always over-cooked. My husband LOVED getting a rare burger at the Greenville location, but here even when he orders the burger rare, it comes out well done...he even sent it back last time and it came out medium well done.
I was brought a burger with a regular bun and the waiters solution was to remove the bun and hand it back to me. He then told me it was gluten free and safe. i explained cross contamination to him and he took the burger in the back and returned a bit later with a fixed burger. i am now having a reaction.
I really wanted to love this place. They offer unique & interesting burgers. Almost all of their sides are GF. They have GF fries, onion rings, fried pickles, etc., which is a yummy treat when you can't normally eat those kinds of foods. I've tried them three times now. My burgers have always been too overdone and dry. Not crazy about the taste of their GF bun, but you can order your burger naked on lettuce.
Owner is celiac... best upper class burger place in town...great service incredible food...make ordering gluten free simple, painless and delicious...FAVORITE...even lots of fried options truly GF dedicated fryer... GF Buns too...
Gluten free fried pickles and onion rings. Gluten free buns for the burgers! Their motto is “Eat Gluten Free” . I’m stoked about finding this place. Staff was well versed in GF facts and acknowledged if it was an allergy or not. I’m celiac and didn’t have any issues afterwards!
