We stopped here on our trip home from Tennessee and it was an adorable little family owned place and absolutely delicious! I got grilled cheese with tomato soup. The owner was incredibly friendly and sweet and mentioned her daughter has Celiac. They are very knowledgeable on cross contact and kept my sandwich in foil without cutting it to keep it free from cross contact. Highly highly recommend this place!

I did suffer from cross-contamination here, but I believe this was my fault, not the staff’s. We took our family to eat here—regular sandwiches for our kids, gluten free for me and my husband (I’m celiac. He’s not, but he ordered gf so we could share.) The gf sandwiches were wrapped in foil to avoid contamination. (They even asked when we ordered if they needed to be safe for celiac or if we just wanted gf ingredients, so I felt sure they took their protocols for celiac seriously.) However, my husband handed out our kids’ food, then forgot to wash his hands before we opened and shared our own. I’m satisfied that the contamination was entirely our fault—a simple moment of forgetful carelessness. I would eat here again.

Went here not knowing what to expect. I was more than pleasantly surprised. A variety of creative grilled cheese options are available gluten free. I had one with mozzarella, tomatoes and lettuce with pesto. The bread is larger than the loaves of Canyon Bakehouse bread I buy in the store. (They have posted that they use CB bread.) The sandwiches come wrapped in sandwich wrap paper and will stay relatively warm while wrapped. The flavor combination of the sandwich was delicious. I added a bag of chips and a bottle of coke. This is a casual place with books for every reading level available to read while waiting for food and while eating. It’s a funky little place just south of downtown H’burg. You can pay with CashApp and get reward points. Super simple, sweetly funky. I’ll be back.

Me: Love the food and the vibe. We go out of our way to eat here. I’m able to get a gluten free vegan grilled cheese that’s delicious. A rare treat for someone with a very unruly, mean and uncooperative stomach.

GCM is amazing! The gf bread is tasty and has a good texture. Staff is very knowledgeable and serious about cross contamination. I don’t have celiac but my close friend does and has been fine eating here. Sandwiches are marked gf and can be marked celiac. There’s a separate preparation area for gf orders! They offer vegan cheese for those with dairy issues or a vegan diet. Outside seating for dogs and they have milk bones right inside the door for pups:)

The owner is a sweetheart who was nice to our kids. They knew exactly what was gluten free and had a gf menu. They were 100% prepared to give us great service and a great experience. My wife did not get sick and she has Celiac's disease.

Went twice in the span of a few weeks while driving through Virginia. Very easy and quick to access off the interstate. The food is delicious. There is signage for celiac disease and when we ordered gluten free they asked whether it was celiac disease so that they could take extra precautions. Terrific place all around.

They use canyon bake house gf bread. If you specify celiac they wrap your sandwich in foil before putting it on the grill press to eliminate cross contamination. Great food!!! Love the soup too!

This place is an awesome find! Had the Jersey Boy grilled cheese which had ham, pork, fried egg, and cheese and a side of tomato soup. All delicious and sandwich came out marked “GF - celiac”. It was toasted and made in a separate area of the kitchen. Great safety protocols and did not get sick!

The staff was knowledgeable about celiac and took precautions to make sure my meal was safe. I had the classic Johnny with ham added, it was delicious! They grilled my sandwich on a piece of aluminum foil and wrapped it in the same foil to reduce chance of cross contamination.

I appreciate any place that offers GF options and can safely prepare me a meal, which aptly describes this place. That said, I just did not like my sandwich (GF tuna melt), nor did my gluten-eating friend like theirs (I forget what he ordered). It was A LOT of bread, and not much flavor, and my tuna fish was very soupy, which made eating it as a sandwich impossible. I did not get sick and believe they are very careful.

The owner came out and spoke to us. Her daughter is celiac and she assured us that she takes appropriate precautions with prepping if we share the need. There are several more options for gluten free options now. Pb&j, tuna melt, Han & cheese, and several others. They are updating their menu. She was not aware that paper straws contain wheat binder but I shared that with her.

Sandwiches were absolutely delicious! They asked if I needed grill cleaned before preparing my GF sandwich which was great! Be aware only certain sandwiches can be GF.

I was asked if I was a Celiac when I asked for gluten free and was told they could make my sandwich in foil and in a press so it would never touch the grill. Food was really delicious. The tomato soup was fabulous. The rest of my family ate the Thursday special and loved the flavors. It was worth the few minutes drive off Route 81 for some comfort food.

They specifically asked if I was celiac and cleaned the grill for me. They served mine on Udis GF bread. The tomato soup is GF as well, very good, homemade and not at all like Campbell's. Please note that this is a food truck.
