In past years, my son has eaten a gluten free pizza several times a week while on vacation and been fine. This year, he was sick from the pizza. He had a reaction due to gluten cross contamination.
This pizzeria was out of the larger gluten-free crust, but was able to make a price adjustment for us to order the multiples that we would need to order for the larger size.
Lightning quick (10 minutes) pizza that tasted like a better version of pizza hut. Ate there twice.

Gluten free crust has a nice "crunch," and this last visit my mom and I had them do the "Margarita" pizza on the gf crust which was amazing! The regular cheese blend is something I miss, but it's just too much on my stomach which isn't 100% okay with lactose either. The fresh mozzarella on the margarita pizza was fine though and the tomatoes, basil and other toppings were so good! Will be ordering this gluten free version again!
Unfortunately non-compliant. Pizza is baked on same conveyor as regular pizza, therefore is contaminated.
Really impressive allergen list for all top 8 allergens (plus gluten) in all ingredients. Gluten-free pizza was one of the best crusts I've had. Decent thickness, perfect crispness, not at all soggy, good flavor. Would definitely go back. They have dedicated pizza cutters for gluten-free pizzas. Only topping you can't have is the meatballs which have flour in them.
*gluten sensitivity rating* I have been going to grotto for 3 years now. past two I enjoyed the pizza as a wonderful alternative and my family can enjoy the regular. they changed their frozen dough for a new one this year and it is GROSS. I also did have Tummy issues afterwards, but not too severe. there aren't many pizza choices in town, and this is the bottom of the list.
If you have any gluten problem whatsoever do not get the gluten free pizza here. The pizza is worse than cafeteria pizza. Spent half of my beach day in the bathroom. The kids who work there do not follow any kind of gf rules. No dedicated ovens or counters. Just a box marked GF.
If you want go pizza, do not tell them you have celiac disease. They refused to serve us because they were afraid we would sue them if we got sick. We asked the waitress and it seems they take all necessary precautions, we said we will order, and then the manager came out and told us we will not be served because we had celiac.
Crab soup is safe for celiac folks. It is amazing. Also the antipasto salad is a good GF choice. Got the GF pizza with pepperoni mushrooms and cheese. Everyone is eager to please. I really like this place. Have had no adverse reactions to the above items.
Pizza is good but not gluten compliant as of last visit 8/28/15. I inquired and GF pizza is made in the same area and same oven as the regular pizza. Didn't get sick but people with more sensitive gluten allergies probably would. Too bad because the GF pizza is actually pretty good.
Only had GF pizza and salads but delish!

The pizza was good, but I'm not sure that it was prepared in a gluten free space. I had major issues after eating the pizza.

Probably the best GF pizza, I've had thus far!! I ordered a 9" with pepperoni & red onions. The crust was extremely crisp & crunchy, retaining a soft chewy interior. The pizza crust is pre-packaged & frozen; but considering that, the pizza was excellent. Upon speaking with the waitress, she reassured me, the kitchen takes necessary precautions to to avoid cross contamination. I'd definitely try their GF pizza again, as I've only had it once.
No. No. No. Having only been gluten-free for a little over a year, I have experienced the delicious tasting regular Grotto's pizza. Since then, I was a bit sad realizing that I'd no longer be able to eat at one of my favorite summer pizza places. I was so excited when I heard that they had added a Gluten-free option! That ended as soon as I opened the box. I ordered a 12" pizza. There was an area varying between 2-3" where the crust was untopped, leaving only about 9" of actual topped pizza. The cheese was good but the sauce was non-existent...I believe it had soaked into the crust. The crust was NOT GOOD. It was dry and flavorless. I still ate it but left several pieces in the box to heat up the next day. That was a mistake! I literally spit the biteful out and had to throw out the rest. Again, NOT GOOD!!!
