My wife has a dairy allergy and a gluten intolerance, so we wanted to try The Gumbo Shop but we also don't have the same restrictions as celiac sufferers. Wife absolutely LOVED the red beans, rice and andouille sausage so much that we went back a second night! Staff was very accommodating to the allergies and helped us navigate wife's needs. Cold beer, good wine, and friendly people made this place one that we'll return to next time we're in town!

The jambalaya was tasty, but when I asked to speak with the manager about other ingredients as I have multiple allergies, she came across as not wanting to be bothered with any questions and was very short with me. The environment was very cute. Sit in the smaller air conditioned room in the back. A little pricey but I feel satisfied and am glad I was able to eat an actual meal.

At the intersection of GF and DF there are very few choices plus the portions are small. Got the Jambalaya as people suggested but not only was it small, the shrimp had not been cleaned properly. Had to get an additional side of red beans and rice and ice tea to fill me up. I’m a 115lb woman btw and it came to $32 after tax and tip which is pretty pricey

The food tasted good especially the praline sundae, although I am a silent celiac so I don’t know if there was cc.

We really enjoyed this place. I had the Jambalaya and found it to be delicious and very filling. I was very pleasantly surprised on the meat to rice ratio in the dish. There was a lot of shrimp, chicken and andouille sausage. The dish and sausage weren't spicy, which was a relief to me because I don't do well with spicy food. This place was moderately priced with the Jambalaya entree being $15 so I would only rate it $$ at the most, not the $$$ shown. I included a picture of the regular menu with pricing for reference since gf menu doesn't include pricing.

Food was pretty good, a bit salty for my personal preference, but solid, and not too expensive for a nice seafood dinner. Also great vanilla ice cream :) our server was pretty helpful overall, but dismissed/shrugged off my request to flag the order as an allergy for the kitchen. The kitchen was also quite small/crowded so that made me nervous. I didn’t get sick but wasn’t super confident about the cross-contamination protocols.

Separate GF menu, make sure to ask the host or server for the menu. My server was super educated on the gf menu which was reassuring. Lots of options. Even their blackened seasoning is GF. Some gf deserts. I had the jambalaya, it was tasty but a bit mushy. Would go back and try something else. Good service. As someone with celiac I had no problems.

The menu options allowed me to finally order jambalaya! They even had dessert options. Our server (Juan) was incredibly helpful. I ordered a fresh made daiquiri (with real fruit!) with a GF rum, he checked all ingredients for a special appetizer that wasn’t on the menu, and took great care of us. We are going back tonight!
Yes
Separate GF menu, but choices for mains are somewhat limited. I was still given bread at the table despite ordering from the GF menu, so servers are not particularly aware it seems.

Had a great meal of blackened chicken and garlic mashed potatoes. Also had red beans and rice that was amazing! Didn’t get sick at all!

Really good gluten free jambalaya.

If you go to NOLA you gotta eat here. Food so local and great, they have gf menu and I didn’t get sick from contamination nor anything. I’d say it’s a safe place for celiacs in a town very difficult to eat gf.
