We ordered the tasting menu, a California roll and the vinegar rice. Before we ordered I asked the waitress for suggestions and she went back to the kitchen to ask. I ended up asking about quite a few rolls and every time she went back to double check. I ordered the miso soup and she came back and told me it wasn't gf. They had gf soy sauce. I had a wonderful meal and the waitress was so nice and patient with me. Apparently one of the owners of the restaurant has a gluten allergy so she was saying they're all familiar with it. We will be back! Update: this is in our neighbourhood so I’ve been here a lot now and the last time we ate there the staff was different and even though the waitress said they could do the chef tasting special gluten free, and even though the chefs said it was, it came out with almost half of the rolls not being gluten free (one even had tempura fried shrimp inside, and two others were rolls that I had asked about before that the very competent waitress told me were not gluten free). When we asked the waitress about the tempura fried roll she assured us it was gluten free. After insisting she ask the chef they admitted it wasn’t gluten free and replaced that one tempura roll. At that point I figured it wasn’t worth asking about the other two rolls because their gluten content wasn’t as obvious. In the end I just stick with eating the sashimi. I won’t be going back

The staff was very helpful and as previous reviews have already said, also very friendly. I asked them about every meal I wanted to order separately and they always double checked if it was gluten free in the kitchen. I ended up ordering the ‘basics‘: R1&2 and Edamame, but I‘m sure many other options are gluten-free. They also have gluten-free soysauce. And even if that's often not the first thing we Celiacs look at: it was also super tasty.
