Without a question the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The owner has celiac disease and doesn’t cook what he can’t eat. My go to is the halibut dinner for two and their fried scallops and shrimp. My husband who has zero diet restrictions agrees that it’s the best fish and chips he’s ever had.

Superb communication, service and attention to detail. Separate fryers for chips, for shellfish. 2 of our 6 are GF, but all of us thoroughly enjoyed the haddock and chips. Scallops and street corn also great. Mostly takeout but some sidewalk seating.

For context, this was my first fish and chips after being diagnosed with celiac 3 years prior and I nearly cried because it was THAT good. Honestly the best fish and chips I've ever had in Canada, even before diagnosis. It actually rivaled some of the gluten ones I tried in Cornwall, UK, which is no small feat.

The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. It was greasy, but not drowning in oil. The batter was crisp, but not rock hard like the result you get with a lot of gluten free batters that use rice or corn. It was phenomenal. The owner was lovely to speak with and he has celiac himself, so the entire place is dedicated gluten free (with his only exception being for malt vinegar). It's not a sit down restaurant, but a cute little shop you can take out from and it seems to be a local favourite, even among those who aren't gluten free, which should tell you everything you need to know about its quality.

I also tried their fried chicken and seafood chowder, which were both very tasty as well, but the fish and chips were the real star. I highly, highly recommend.

This is absolutely the best fish & chips! 100% GF facility. No worry of cross contamination. Our friends that don’t need GF also love this place. It’s a 45 min drive for me but it’s worth it. It is take out only.

Gluten-free fish and chips are elusive for us celiacs even in some of the most populated and popular cities. And if you are able to find something, the batter is hit and miss. I have to say that Hammerheads F&C gives even the best regular F&C a run for their money IMO! Highly recommend for anyone with CD or gluten intolerance, sensitivity or allergy. And who are in the area or driving through. This place is dedicated GF and I am happy we tried it. Sadly, we are from out of town and we will definitely be back next time we are in the area! Just excellent!

We had Hammerheads for the first time recently. WOW! Best fish and chips EVER!!!! Even my gluten-eating partner said it was excellent. We'll definitely go back, and I highly recommend it. EVERYTHING is gluten free 👍👍

Didn’t get to eat the food, but I didn’t want to hurt the rating so I put it as 5 stars. I just wanted to make sure people know it is not very big inside so it’s not a sit down restaurant.

Made to order fish and chips. Owner was very personable while he made our food, explained that he had skin reactions while working near a pizza oven at a previous restaurant and wanted to open his own GF safe place. It was obvious he takes care and pride in his food. He showed us the only gluten containing item in the place were individual packets of malt vinegar if customers wanted it. Several options of fish and sizes, some side orders such as poutine cole slaw and mushy peas. We did not need additional fries but I wanted to try the poutine. Large portions. We took leftovers with us. He also offered a daily special.
