Hawaiian Bros

Stopped on our way back home from Chicago. We're looking for affordable, tasty, and quick. (Hard to find for gluten free on the road). Hawaiian Bros delivered all three and more! :) $10-20/person. They can split your plate with two proteins if you prefer. I had the Honolulu and Malakai. Yum! Everything is gluten free except the macaroni salad and the mandarin orange salad. Including the condiments-they brought tamari packets to our table!!!!

They also have artisan root beer and cream soda, Hawaiian juices, etc.

The Dole soft serve is delicious-the twist combines strawberry and pineapple. It tastes like summertime!

Note: protein comes served on rice as well as having a side of rice.

Most menu items are GF (avoid Mac salad and salad option). Pretty safe just by the nature of how they prep the food (Mac salad is prepared separately, all grilled meats are GF).

Food was really good, and I did not get sick! Ordered carryout and got the Molokai chicken with rice, and ordered the twist dole whip. Both were delicious! Food was done very fast and portion sizes were perfect. On their website it lists the only items that aren’t gluten free are the macaroni salad and the pacific island salad.

First visit - great food, super fast, and helpful staff! We tried several of the dishes, all with white rice and fresh pineapple sides. They have a detailed allergy listing on their website and only two items have gluten - the macaroni salad and the salad. My kids loved the luau pork with the provided pineapple BBQ sauce. We liked the Molokai chicken (slightly spicy). We’ll be back!

CELIACS! WE HAVE FAST FOOD!!!!

Holy wowza! Fast food that I can eat! And this stuff is super tasty too! I’ve had this twice now and not gotten sick. Extremely sensitive Celiac here. The fact that only 2 items on their entire menu contain gluten keeps my post-food consumption anxiety at bay too. Winning!

Twice in a row I’ve enjoyed the Molokai. It’s only a hint of spicy and super tasty. Next time I will be trying the hotter dish, the kiluwea. My hubs tried the Honolulu and it was savory and a winner too! The steamed veggies were a tasty surprise as well. I expected them to taste like I’d expect fast food steamed veggies to be like (mushy, not fresh seeming) and were far better than that as well. Pineapple skewers are fresh not canned. Nom!

Everything is Gf minus the macaroni salad and croutons on the salad! I’ve eaten there twice. SUPER delicious, zero reactions! (I have celiac disease and I’m sensitive)

First visit. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Nearly everything gf except macaroni salad side dish. Had keto options as well. Such a great alternative for fast food. Wish they had more seating but probably a result of being new and a good value.

Would go back for the dole pineapple whip, but the food itself wasn’t that great in my opinion, the chicken was dry and flavor wise was just okay.

Delicious food and almost everything is gluten free. I got a large plate and made three meals off of it. Highly recommend!

Order at a kiosk, but they have allergen list at the main counter. The only item with gluten is the macaroni. I substituted it for veggies. The sauces don’t have gluten though, even the teriyaki. The meat tender and delicious! Fresh pineapple or GF and DF dole whip as dessert. Great and fast! Best of all, no sickness after eating. 👍🏼

I used to love this place before I was diagnosed, but I have never eaten here and not gotten glutened. As in, immediate symptoms just a few bites in. I’m not sure if they don’t realize what’s in their sauce (because I’ve asked and been assured it’s safe) or if it’s that they don’t take the separate kitchen space or need for a clean space seriously.. but as good as their teriyaki is, it’s not worth it.
