Review of Hawthorns Urban Wildlife Centre

TLDR; the only option was gf cake, but it was very delicious and it's a great cute cafe to stop on your walk

The centre is quite small and run by volunteers so the kitchen is not that big. The menu didn't have any gluten free options listed, it was mostly English Breakfast type things or fried eggs and rashers and such but I think everything was just done on the same stovetop.

There were two elderly ladies working there who were very friendly but I don't think they really knew what coeliac was or understood much about cross contamination. When I asked about gluten free options they said the only thing they had was a gluten free cake.

The cake was courgette and avocado, which was really delicious and moist. It wasn't cooked on the premises, it was brought it from elsewhere which made me feel quite safe. We ate outside where where are really nice views of a pond with lilypads.
