Great food and knowledgable staff. Waitress questioned the chef who made sure we all left full and feeling well. Including multiple allergies.

This place was great! We went in the evening so there was live music. Great view. They have a gluten free menu and knowledgeable staff. I had salmon without the glaze and a house salad with balsamic. Food was great and I and had no issues.

After multiple requests made to our server, my husband found a manager. Clay (I believe that was his name), Manager, was great. Had knowledge of Celiacs and was very cautious. The GF menu here is a joke (scratched out items, basic food without sauce or seasoning and only side option is mashed potatoes), but Clay assisted in ordering off the GF menu with a piece of grilled fish, broccoli and (you guessed it!) mashed potatoes. Meal was very average. Kudos to Clay for being the best part of our Hemingway’s experience.

While the GF menu is not extensive, it has some great options. This was one of our favorite restaurants pre-GF. I had the Arroz Con Pollo girlled chicken. It was very good. The waitress double-checked everything she said with the chef. The only disappointment is that the black beans and rice that are the typical sides are not GF. I loved those pre-GF. Great restaurant with a great view.

Chef came out to explain cooking process and safety precautions to us. They had quite a few options. Very well cooked and no reaction from my celiac daughter. Would have been nice to have better substitutions mainly for the sauces containing gluten, but overall a good meal.

Update: Returned one year later. It was not particularly busy. Waiter was unfamiliar with gluten precautions - as was his support. Chef didn't come out either. Explained situation, but appeared to us that they couldn't assure our safety. Frankly, we lost confidence that we could eat there safely so we left. Thus lowered to 1 star from a coeliac point of view. Shame really...

Great food! Waitress was educated about gluten and cross contamination. Kitchen takes extra precautions not to cross contaminate. Didn't get sick.

No official GF menu, server asked the chef and they made a great GF dish. However, service was slow and no one really had any GF knowledge other than the chef.

We had a great GF experience at Hemingway's Grill. The chicken was nicely grilled & the spaghetti squash was perfect. My GF dining companion had the pork tenderloin...just the right amount of spicyness. Before dining there, the hostess was able to confidently reassure me that they regularly accommodate gluten-free diners & was able to explain how the waitstaff communicates the gluten free request to the kitchen & then they use clean cooking ware, utensils, & clean prep area to avoid cross-contamination. I liked hearing that!

They have a gluten free menu and the food was amazing! I had the Hurricane Shrimp, asparagus with feta, and maduros (plantains with vanilla rum sauce to dip)... I highly recommend trying them!
