Update: I’ve gotten sick the last couple of times I have eaten here, not bad, but defiantly cross-contamination.
Hopefully they can tighten up their processes, they’ve always been careful in the past.
The best food, the healthiest food, the safest food. We eat at Herban Market at least a few times a week and we buy GF Chicken Pot Pies 6 at a time and freeze them just in case we want one for lunch (they are only on the dinner menu) and I have never gotten sick!
It’s a different kind of place, parking can be difficult right at lunch time, you stand in line to order, the food is brought to your table as it’s ready, so depending on what you order you may not get it all at once, the tables are small and it’s noisy… but it’s an energetic atmosphere and all of the staff are great!
Cool fun fact… you may find yourself eating a casual lunch next to someone famous.
If you’re Celiac go because it’s safe. If you’re not go because the food is good!
GREAT! Their menu was clearly marked and there were many options for me that were both GF/DF. I ended up getting the banana pancakes and they were delicious. Staff was very nice as well. You order and then they bring your food to your table. There’s also a market inside with many GF treats/snacks. I’ll be coming back!
Great spot for a meal or coffee! Lots of GF options. Staff very knowledgeable. Had the breakfast tacos with the golden latte and did not get sick! When I ordered, they asked if I had any allergies. When I said gluten they said if it’s severe, they can clean all the prep areas before making my meal as extra precaution. Never had that willingly offered to me before without asking, so that was great!
Also cool little market with healthy and local products! New fav spot outside of Nashville!
They have gluten, egg, dairy, nut allergy marked on the menu as well as vegan. You order at the bar area and I still mentioned I was a celiac with egg and dairy allergies. I had the shrimp tacos and they were fantastic! I did not have any celiac symptoms and I’m pretty sensitive even with cross contamination. However I did not ask about the protocols in the kitchen.
Always such a good experience here! They have several common allergens noted on their menu, which I personally love so I don’t have to ask about several different things. They usually ask about allergens when ordering as well. Really good food with quick service and many GF options!
I was so excited to eat here and had really high hopes that they would be knowledgeable about cross contamination. I asked if the chicken wrap and the huevos rancheros would be celiac safe which they assured me they would be. Both tested positive for gluten on my NIMA. The manager later said they use the same fryer for everything (even though the huevos rancheros were marked GF) and the chicken wrap was obviously cross contamination. I wanted to love this place but i don’t have faith that their kitchen understands how to take proper allergy precautions. Very neat grocery store and nice prepackaged options.
They definitely seemed to understand needs of celiac folks and I wanted to like it more than I did. But while they did have gluten free bread they can’t toast or heat it safely so it was room temperature. It also was really thickly sliced and dry and crumbly which is so frustrating when trying to eat a sandwich. It was a bit expensive, too. While it tasted okay, I’m not sure it would be worth it to go again. If we did, I’d try like a salad or something without bread.
Outstanding! The chicken pot pie was excellent. Some of the best GF food I’ve ever had. The whole menu looked delicious and like it could accommodate every single dietary need or food allergy anyone in my circle of family and friends has. Such a cool spot. I should have just eaten here every single meal.
Absolute favorite place in Franklin. They have lots of gluten free options! All the food is so fresh and leaves you feeling good.
Food is delicious. I appreciated that when I said my daughter had celiac, the woman who took our order told me all the things they would be doing to be safe without me having to ask. And the receipt said allergy. They didn’t automatically do that for all gluten free orders, which I actually think is good because it puts the cooks on higher alert.
Delicious GF options! Great neighborhood restaurant with healthy options.
