Hibachi Japanese Steakhouse

It's hard to know where to begin with this place! We walked in and the floors are crazy! They are so slippery it's like walking on ice, but they aren't wet. Everywhere. Even the bathroom. There is no gluten free menu, but I notified our waitress and she seemed out of it. She acted like they would cook my food at the hibachi grill with everyone else's food (usually at Hibachi restaurants they cook it in the back separately). I double checked with her and then she sort of agreed. Our chef came out and started to cook my food along with my family, who had ordered noodles. I was in shock! I walked out to the front where there was a host and spoke with him. He seemed to understand and assured me that they would cook my food in the back. The waitress had no idea what was wrong and seemed annoyed. I asked the server if the yum yum sauce was gluten free and she said, "I don't think so". When I asked her to check for me, she sighed and walked away. Then reported back that I could eat it. The whole thing was confusing. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the kitchen did cook me a gluten free meal, I had no reaction. The food was also super salty.

I am a vegetarian with celiac and I'm allergic to shellfish. Believe it or not, this place was extraordinarily accommodating. They prepared my food in the kitchen after cleaning all the dishes and utensils to prepare my food. They used gluten free soy sauce and even made me grilled tofu. Not only was it delicious, they timed my food to come out when everyone else's food was almost ready. The chef was entertaining and understanding of my issues. Would definitely come back!

Excellent sushi, knowledgeable staff. Great place to eat.

While they don't have a GF menu, they are very knowledgeable about which menu items contain gluten and which ones are safe. They also have GF soy sauce. They also substituted ranch dressing for the regular dressing on the salad that accompanied my sushi order. Excellent sushi rolls as well. I will be back!!
