A nice find for gluten free food in Chester. The food is delicious and the menu is very extensive, the staff even said that if we wanted to check a meal that wasn’t on the gluten free menu they would to see if it could be done. The staff double checked my order and reassured us that all the gluten free food would be cooked in a separate fryer to ensure it was safe. The restaurant is on the river and has a beautiful beer garden so gets very busy in summer, definitely one to book ahead if you can! All in all a lovely experience, would highly recommend to anyone visiting Chester

GF menu available with lots of options, almost same as everything on the regular menu. Staff are super helpful and understanding, a manager came over to explain the risks of cross contamination with everything and what they do to combat that. Consistently came over to communicate with me and make sure I was good. Separate fryers for food, and things come out with allergy flags. Definitely felt safe eating here and appreciated everything the staff did to help with that! Fried pickles "Frickles" are a must.

Separate GF Menu with a lot of options for each course. Bottles of Daura Damm GF Beer. Manager came to our table to explain they have separate fryers and are very confident on cross contamination training. They did say it’s not a GF kitchen so they won’t guarantee which is pretty normal practice now we’ve found. They took the order separately to the kitchen to flag it and each item came out with an allergy flag. My husband is coeliac and had no symptoms after the meal.

Was absolutely amazing the place has an extensive gluten free menu . The staff were attentive came with a tablet with all allergy information and talked through the menu .then all food ordered gluten free came with a flag in saying allergy oh and the food was amazing.

So the gluten free menu is good and the staff are knowledgeable and make an effort to show you the allergies on the tablet. The food is average, my husband had a non gluten free meal and he’s was rubbish!

A dedicated gluten free menu where meat eaters don’t miss out. My son also has Coeliac disease and loves coming here to eat the ribs. I love the mushroom breakfast bap when we come for brunch. All of the food comes out with little flags on too so you know it’s been segregated.

Food and service excellent! Lots of GF options, and a system where for once GF people get extra, free of charge. So you cant have the sausage on the share platter but you can double up in anything else instead. Extra portion of Jacobs ladder beef rib was an absolute treat!! The whole meal was sn absolute experience and a real treat! Massive ‘well done’ and well earned 5 stars for Hickorys. Oh…GF beer too! 😀
