Great food and service. Almost everything is GF. They have a dedicated fryer. My daughter is celiac and has never gotten sick.

Dedicated gluten free fryer is all you nee to hear. Anything wrapped in a corn tortilla can be deep fried and they were lovely. Hubby hasn't had burritos for a couple years and he was thrilled. The chips and salsa...yeah, not in the shared fryer and man were they delicious! The service was great and the atmosphere is nice too.

If you are celiac and want some Mexican food, this is the place! Felt amazing to feel normal eating at a restaurant again! The waitress reassured me multiple times that everything besides a few items on the menu are gf! I had the shrimp tacos and queso! Having a dedicated fryer for their chips is the icing on the cake! Will definitely be back!

The waitress was great and very good at knowing what is gluten free. They have a dedicated fryer. But here’s the big but the food is just mediocre. Everything was bland and the fried items seemed bc like they were all made hours before we arrived. Even the chips were bland. We were so excited to try the fried ice cream. But it tasted like it was rolled in corn flakes. Which I have never found a box that is gluten free. I didn’t ask we just stopped eating it and headed home. Was definitely a disappointment.

Very nice waitress!! Very knowledgeable about menu options for gluten free meals. Service was quick even though she was the only waitress serving people in the afternoon. Food was great. My daughter was very happy that she could have fried ice cream for desert. We will definitely go there again. It is located behind Family Dollar store. Update: Oct. 2022. We have been coming here for years. Both daughters have celiac. They have never eaten here and got sick. Tell them you are gluten free. Try the Chicken Enchilada Suizas they are so good!

This is one of the only safe places to eat if you are gluten free in Belleville. I am not diagnosed celiac, but I am very sensitive to gluten and will definitely feel it if any gluten was in my food. Kim and her whole staff are trained on food safety and allergies. They always accommodate and reassure us that our selection can be and is gluten free. I am so glad to have this gem of a restaurant in my town. Wonderful staff, fabulous owners, and amazing food.
Drove about 35 minutes out to Belleville for Hidalgo Authentic Mexican Restaurant because my sister and I are GLUTEN FREE!! This place has amazing reviews for being gluten free and safe. And we were very excited because we dont get to go out and enjoy restaurants much. We made sure to let our waitress know that we were gluten free. We mentioned it at least 5 times plus when we first got there we told her how exciting it was for us to find a gluten free place that everyone talks so highly about. I told her to please make sure the cook in the back knows its all gluten free. And she insured us that everything would be fine and safe.. I'm not sure who to blame, was it our server who we told many times that we were gluten-free? or was it the people in the back not caring and not taking the time to look over our ticket carefully? I don't know but I am so disappointed because we were so sick. the one time we let our guard down and try to trust the place that has amazing reviews for everyone else that is gluten free I'm so disappointed not to mention how sick I was I will never be back
We selected this restaurant based on FindMeGF reviews and were very pleased. The staff was very knowledgeable and well aware of the needs of celiacs. Dedicated fryer for chips. Best of all the food was delicious!
The key here is to ask for Kim, she is AMAZING. I have gluten and corn allergies and I have never had a reaction here, she always takes care of me. I always take her recommendations 😊
I’ve eaten here like 5 times now with no issues. No separate menu but most things can be made gluten free with a corn tortilla. Just ask! The staff is super knowledgeable. They have a dedicated fryer so even the chips are safe! Love this place!
Partner has celiac and had a good meal! Simple but yummy and no cross contamination. They don’t have a separate gf menu but almost everything can be made gf. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and checked in on us frequently to make sure everything was alright!
Love this place! Friendly staff, good prices and tasty food! They don’t have a gf menu or separate fryer. However, they can make a lot of things GF with corn tortillas.
We were looking for a restaurant with GF options and this one came up. We stopped in for lunch and were not disappointed. Manager Kim went above and beyond my expectations to check on any ingredients that may cause an issue for my celiac disease and a soy intolerance.

I talked to Kim my first time ordering, she was very knowledgeable and friendly, gave me lots of options and really made me feel comfortable. I also have a dairy allergy and had no issues. The food was delicious and I’ve been ordering takeout almost weekly. Never felt “glutened” after eating. The birria tacos are so good!

Over 80% of the menu is gluten free. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a separate fryer and even some desserts are gluten free! Kim (manager) is fantastic and will go through the entire menu with you. They even do catering!

Enjoyed a trip to Hildalgo Authentic Mexican Restaurant tonight. The food is absolutely phenomenal, and the manager/owner is extremely well-versed in the gluten-free diet for celiac disease. She won’t even let her servers on the floor until they know the menu inside & out of what IS and is not gluten free. Not only are they extremely careful, the food is the best Mexican food I’ve had locally, especially since I’ve been gluten free. And yes, even the RICE is gluten free! Food is affordable too! 🌮🌮🌮

Kim, the general manager, is extremely knowledgeable about gluten and celiac disease. She made sure my meal was bagged separately from my family’s and was easily able to answer all my questions. First time since being diagnosed that I can enjoy restaurant tortilla chips. The food is delicious too!

The servers seemed very helpful and knowledgeable when it came to Celiac. The waitress showed me exactly what menu items were gluten free. The chips and salsa were also gluten free. The chips are done in their own separate fryer. I had the veggie fajitas and they were delicious!
