Very positive experience here. They do not have GF items marked on the menu but there were several options and my waitress seemed able to communicate to me what was GF. The chowder was fantastic, and I had a stuffed mushroom app. They also had cider on tap and several other can options. I had no reactions.
Not celiac safe, cross-contamination is a big issue. I ordered the clam chowder and crab cakes and was told they are gluten free, but I definitely had a gluten reaction. I could tell they didn’t clean the grill before cooking my crab cakes and served them with toast on the side. The server forgot about my gluten allergy after telling me she’d “try to remember”. I do not recommend for anyone with celiac.
NOT CELIAC FRIENDLY! We have never been treated so rudely. I called ahead and asked if we needed reservation and if they had gluten free for celiac options. She said yes we are first come first serve. Upon arrival she asked if we had reservations. I told her no we called and they said we didn't need one. She said she was really busy and was short. We found a table finally, waited 15 minutes for service and finally she came to take our order. Mind you we had asked a second time if they served gluten free celiac safe options. She had said yes. Now takes our order after not wanting to take the time to specify what was gluten free. Comes back in a few minutes and says sorry but you can't eat here. Our chef says we have flour everywhere. We said ok and asked that they needed to not offer gluten free then. As we were walking out, she actually said, "well I guess I pissed them off" to another table. Mind you we had not even been rude and politely left after being treated like garbage. I would not suggest going to this restaurant as a gluten free individual or anyone. First time ever we have been given ZERO options. I understand the difficulty of serving gluten free food, but was treated very rudely.
Good food! They have lots of GF options. You order and pay first and bus your own table. But it was pretty fast so I find that a plus.
