Hinesburgh Public House

I tried this restaurant a few years ago with my family. They are only open for dinner and have relatively few items on their menu, I think because Hinesburg is a small town and it doesn’t work to have 30 entree options! Anyway on the menu at the restaurant items marked GF included 3 salads with optional proteins (crispy chickpeas, chicken, beef), chicken risotto, and angus filet medallions with potatoes. I got the chicken risotto and asked if they could exclude the parmesan cheese, as I am also dairy free, and that was no problem. I tolerate butter fine so the butter in the dish was fine for me. The waitress seemed to understand about avoiding cross-contamination and said she would put an allergy note on my order.The risotto was good and the decor and ambiance were great, there was a pianist playing pleasant jazz music the whole time we were there.Someone in my party requested no mushrooms in their alfredo and that was also an easy yes.I gave it 3 stars because there are limited menu items. Also, a number of their other dishes looked like they could be made gluten free, for example burgers without the bun, salmon without the bed of farro, but I didn’t ask, and the menu didn’t offer that as an option.
