Finding gluten free fish and chips is always an exciting prospect for me. Unfortunately, I found my meal of GF battered cod, onion rings and fries to be okay but certainly not great. The fish was crispy on the outside but oily on the inside. The onion rings were the best part of the meal. The double serving of fries was generous but soggy. Since we were staying in the Hyde Park area Hobson’s was convenient but I would not go out of my way for it. My meal at Leadbelly was much better and I would go out of my for it and the double G and T’s.

Great variety of GF options. The waitress was helpful and food was fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. The only small complaint is several tiny bones in my sea bass fillet.

From a purely GF standpoint this place is great. They have a dedicated fryer and several GF options in addition to fish & chips, like onion rings & dessert. I love eating at places that take GF seriously, however I didn't love their batter which was rice-heavy and so didn't have a lot of flavor & felt a little brittle. I would recommend it if you're in the UK and needing a fish & chips fix. The chips were fried on the softer side, which is the proper way in the UK. Fish was pretty good (I liked that you could choose the type of fish you wanted), I think my biggest issue was with the onion rings which I really wouldn't recommend.

Had I not been told the fish in chips was HE, I would not have believed it. The best fish and chips I have ever had.

If celiac friendly is your only criteria then this is a good place. However if you also care for your gluten free food to taste good, then do not go here. Truly the worst batter I have ever had and worst fish and chips. To top it off the service was mediocre at best.

Maybe I was just super sensitive yesterday, but I felt immediately sick after eating the gf fish and then gf apple crisp.
