The Honest Indian has a few gluten free items on their menu, but they took my request for something that was gluten free, sugar free and without tomatoes seriously. The counter person I first spoke with wasn’t sure and went to get the owner, to make sure that my food was something that I could enjoy without unnecessary issues , if they could. I was very happily surprised to try the “fried paneer appetizer wet”. I have no idea if what I now regularly eat at this establishment is what is offered on the menu or not. What I do know is that my paneer was cooked in a single pan, not in the fryer with gluten laden offerings, and that the proprietors of this establishment were very concerned with making sure that I wasn’t made sick by anything they were serving. If I asked about a dish that sounded appetizing to me and they couldn’t make it without compromising taste or other things, they readily informed me. This was one of my best “ going into a restaurant blindly because that’s where my friends wanted to eat” experiences in the suburbs of Baltimore, in a non gluten free restaurant. I’d suggest calling ahead if you’ve got questions , the menu here is EXTENSIVE, and the same owners also have a breakfast based Indian cuisine restaurant with the word Egg in its name a couple doors down in the same shopping center.
