We ordered carry out and picked up wonderful Memphis-style hickory smoked ribs and chicken. The meat fell off the bones, tasted sooo good, and reheated without a problem. (The ribs were a bit oily, but we paper-toweled the oil off.) Anything fried is not GF, but most other sides are fine. Their allergen pdf lists other allergens in their food, though it’s buried in the website. Scroll to the bottom of their home page to the heading Gluten-Free, the click on the link to the pdf. The restaurant is not fancy, but clean and inviting. Staff are knowledgeable. Every restaurant should have an online ordering system like the Honky Tonk Smokehouse - every possible choice for your meal is listed. Most importantly, you can choose GF and “no bread.” Other choices include BBQ sauce on-or-off the meat, type of sauce, dark or white meat chicken, crispy meat - there must be 15 BBQ choices alone.
Go here! I’ve never seen a cleaner bbq restaurant- the front desk told me they have gone to celiac training and I can confirm- they’re serious about it! They even sanitized the bbq sauce bottle before handing it to me- food was amazing and a great price! They also have other allergens marked on the menu
We had a fantastic experience with them while visiting family this week (12/2023). My son has Celiac and as many of us know, it can make eating out (especially away from home) a daunting task. We ordered a big take out spread including ribs, pulled pork, brisket and several sides and everyone absolutely loved it. I was a little worried as we had a 14hr drive home the following day but my son loved the food and didn't get sick. We will definitely be going back. Give them a try if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed.
Food was delicious! The staff was helpful when making my selections and will accommodate folks with celiac (wash hands, separate prep area, etc.). If you are looking for southern BBQ without that Lexington/Eastern vinegar bottle flavor that covers the smoked goodness of the meat then this is the place to go. We have found our new favorite place! Thank you Honky Tonk Smokehouse!

Had a great experience here, there is a detailed allergen menu right at the counter, and the staff are happy to answer any questions about allergies and cross-contamination practices. They are very careful, and take a lot of pride in it! I didn’t get sick, and had delicious pulled pork to boot!
I really enjoyed my delicious smoked barbecue meal of brisket and turkey platter with sides of baked beans and sweet potato tots. The brisket was at the top of the list for best I've ever eaten, flavorful tender and juicy. The restaurant was extremely clean, with friendly and knowledgeable staff that is very conscientious of gluten-free needs. I believe it was the owner who took the time to review a list of their menu items, including the sauces used, that are all gluten free. While they don't have a dedicated fryer, they offered to bake the sweet potato tots instead of fry them. She explained how they carefully handle orders for special food needs, changing their gloves etc. She also double checked the ingredients on the bag of tots to be sure they were still GF. The service was fantastic, friendly, quick delivery of our meal, and they came by our table a few times to check if we needed anything. Will definitely come back here again!
Food was delicious however cashier did not have a clue which gluten free sauces where which the guide is taped beside the register I looked through found a gluten free option on the brisket no bread and still go sick….I have an allergy to wheat started wheezing before I could leave.
The owner and front desk staff know me now. The owners go out of their way to assure my food is safe. I can call in my wings and he will bake my smoked wings and not fry. Greens are gf and vegan. I love this place. Never have had anything that make a me sick and I’m very sensitive.
