Everything marked gluten free and also can substitute to accommodate. The waiter was very knowledgable. Brought out gluten free bread before dinner. Meal was excellent. Highly recommend.

Went here last night. Most of the menu is gf or can be made gf. I had shrimp and grits and it was very good; however it is quite expensive when compared to to other local restaurants and nothing special. I did appreciate that they brought out gf bread with the pimento cheese spread. That was nice.

We always eat here a couple of times while on vacation. This year, both Brian and Antonija were wonderful servers and were very careful about my GF choices. When everyone else gets the house made pimento cheese spread, I get my own portion with GF bread and it’s AMAZING! There are so many great dinner options and the desserts are unbelievably good! My favorite restaurant!!!

Make reservations at least 24 hours in advance on their website if you can
The GF items are marked on the menu. The waitress was very helpful. I had the scallops and they were excellent! I recommend this restaurant.
Came back and ordered the catch of the day. Excellent!
Came back in 2024 for my husband’s birthday. We both had the crab cakes which they made GF. Very good!

Hook & Barrel is always our go to for safe delicious food while visiting Myrtle Beach. Save room for dessert. We tried both the Maple Bourbon Creme Brulee and the Chocolate Moose Torte. Best yet.

Most of the menu is gluten free or can be easily modified to be. They even brought out gluten free bread with dip without asking. The menu was celiac friendly! The crab cakes were the best I have ever had! We also had quick and friendly service as well as a knowledgeable server.

We picked this place because it seemed to have a lot of GF options based on reviews. Best decision ever! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. I love that many items on the menu are labeled GF, but many others can be made GF upon request. Our 11-year old son (who has Celiac) loved everything we ordered and that’s very hard. I would highly recommend this place.

This is always our favorite meal of the year. They are very knowledgeable and cautious. I got the braised short ribs with Carolina gold rice and Brussels and it was amazing. My husband and son both got the crab cakes- a rarity for gf people! The bourbon bacon was incredible as were the gf cocktails and desserts. Definitely worth every penny!

The crab cakes and triple chocolate mousse cake were the perfect final meal on our vacation! Wow, absolutely amazing. Our server was Mitch and he knows the menu very well. He’s also very conscientious about recommending the available GF options only if it keeps the quality/essence of the dish.

Fabulous restaurant! Very accommodating for gluten-free. Menu includes indicators for gluten free, as well as entrees that can be modified to be gluten free. The complimentary bread and pimiento cheese were offered with a g-f bread for me. The crab cakes and dessert tower were delicious! We will definitely go back!

We had an amazing take out dinner last night (it was hot/super fresh) and we can’t wait until next year when we return! We got multiple entrees to share as a group and they were all superior. Shrimp & grits, braised short ribs, and the crab cakes….all were to die for! You can easily select gluten/wheat allergy during the online ordering process. Items are clearly marked on the menu if they are GF or can be modified to be GF. Great service, as well! When my husband picked up the order he said it was really nice inside, as well. Hoping to dine-in on our next visit!

Such a gluten free gem in Myrtle Beach that I highly recommend. I am severely allergic to gluten and had no issues. I ordered a lemon basil martini along with the crab cake dinner. I haven’t had crab cakes since I was diagnosed over 12 years ago so it was a treat. I was too full for dessert but they have gluten-free options. The pimento cheese dip was an unexpected delight they brought out as a friendship appetizer. I ended up buying some to take home.

Service was excellent. Menu is well marked GF. Staff is very knowledgeable about GF. They served GF bread with their pimento cheese dip. The Bourbon Bacon was incredible. I've never seen crab cakes on a menu and gluten free always- they were so delicious. The triple chocolate mousse cake was very rich. I'll definitely be back if ever in the area.

This is one of the best places in Myrtle Beach for gluten free food in an upscale but friendly atmosphere. I let the server know that I have celiac when I ordered the crab cakes. She brought out a housemaid pimento cheese with pita chips for my husband as an on the house appetizer and brought a separate plate with gluten-free toast and pimento cheese for me. It’s the little details like that that make it so great! The crab cakes were so good! My husband got the pork chop (also listed as GF) and he loved it. Everyone around us was raving about their food and everyone all had something different. I think it’s safe to say that anything you order marked as GF will be safe and delicious.

O.M.G. This is one of the best places I’ve eaten at in quite a while. Staff was super knowledgeable. Menu has gf options clearly marked. But…the food! So so good. It’s pricey, but so worth a visit. Shared a bunch of stuff… pork chop, salmon, mussels…everything was very good. My new fave in MB.

This is my number one choice to go for dinner in Myrtle Beach because items that are GF are clearly labeled on the menu. This makes ordering easier. Be sure to tell the staff and your server you are GF. They will ensure there’s no cross contamination and they will bring you your own dedicated GF bread. If you are booking online or through an app there’s also a section they offer to list any food intolerances or allergies. I’ve always had a great experience eating there. They are very GF friendly and knowledgeable.

Great experience! It’s a beautiful, clean restaurant with MANY clearly marked GF menu items and several more indicating that they could be modified to GF. Our server was knowledgeable and I felt confident that my meal was safe. I was even provided with GF bread and pimento cheese to start the meal (that’s a first for me!). 100% recommend and we will certainly return when we come back to Myrtle Beach. We ordered oysters, burrata Caprese salad and the scallops. All excellent!

Just ate here for the first time the other night and, WOW, was it good! I had shrimp cocktail for appetizer and, after I told our server that I am gf, she brought out toasted gf bread and cucumber to go with the pimento cheese! The menu was clearly marked. My husband (who does not eat gf) even thought the bread was good. He had a special with pork chop and peach bourbon glaze that WAS gf and I had the sea scallops and creamed corn. We were too stuffed for dessert, but still brought home gf dessert from Croissants next door. Overall, the food was delicious. It is pricey, so we will definitely return for special occasions.

Great place to eat. Our waitress also ate gluten free so she was very helpful. Hubby and I got the same thing. There was some confusion about which plate was the gluten free one. Waitress went back to the kitchen to ask chef. He had prepared both gluten free😃. Food was good. No problems afterwards. Would go back.

I had the scallops with the crab cake and it was absolutely divine. The server was very knowledgeable about cross contamination and very clearly directed me to what I could and couldn’t have. She even brought over pimento and cheese with gluten free toast for me to enjoy while we waited on our entrees. My main course was perfectly cooked and delicious. It was very filling and I’d love to return to have it again on future visits. I ordered the shrimp & grits to take home so I’d have a good safe breakfast. It was good as well but I’m glad I went with the scallops & crab cake for dinner. Put this one on your must visit but make a reservation! Due to shortened hours they can seat fewer tables and stop seating at 9pm I think.

Amazing for the third time in a row! Celiac safe gluten free items on menu, Trevor our waiter was extreme knowledgeable. Also brought me veggies with pimento cheese while the rest of the table ate lavash. Dessert at Croissants had lots of GF options, try the triple chocolate mousse cake or the almond joy bars. I’ll be back every time I’m in MYR for that scallop dish mmmmm.

Didn’t have the best waiter tonight, but the food was good and they worked to make sure no gluten or dairy were present. They were out of a few sides and that limited a few options. Was not offered the gluten free bread that I see others were offered. Maybe next time.
Yes
Very flexible with the menu options and delicious.
The staff was very knowledgeable about gluten-free. The menu was marked as to what options were gluten-free or what could be modified to be gluten-free. Tons of options! They even brought out gluten-free bread before the meal. I had the crab cakes and they were so tasty. I also got the chocolate tower for dessert and it was amazing. I still have the other half in the fridge because I couldn’t finish it all. Highly recommend this place!
Very knowledgeable staff friendly staff! Had GF crab cakes and the peach pork tenderloin. Nima tested and approved.

My husband made a reservation and our waiter was given a note upon my arrival regarding Celiac. Had amazing appetizers, entrees, and drinks. No room for dessert. Waiter checked on gf sides because they were not marked in the menu like the rest of the food. Definitely returning on our next vacation!

Hook and Barrel is awesome! My server was very knowledgeable and the menu was clearly marked with what was and wasn’t gluten free. They even had gluten free crab cakes! I highly recommend this place!

This place was delicious. Plenty of GF options, staff was trained, attentive, and personable. Was able to confidently eat without worrying about poorly trained staff trying to understand my diet restriction. Ate a bunch of food and didn’t get sick!

Had Hook & Barrel for Sunday brunch. Had deviled eggs for appetizer and farm fresh omelet with cheesy hash rounds and homemade (yes, in house homemade) gluten-free sourdough type bread for toast. They also gave us samples of their yummy mango smoothies. Items are marked GF or a dot to say they can be made that way
