HopCat - Kalamazoo

Absolutely terrible place to go if you're gluten free. The wait staff makes it abundantly clear that you're an inconvenience. They were out of gluten free buns for their burger so it had to be lettuce wrapped...it didn't even come out wrapped. They just tossed it on a bed of lettuce. They offer not alternative sides to eat, aside from apple slices or a salad. They do not have a dedicated fryer. I had never felt so ashamed to be alive after the service I received here. The only saving grace was that the manager comped my bill and apologized profusely because they get asked about Celiac often, and while they dont really have options, never wants someone to leave feeling less than human.

The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable, however their options were very limited. Had the blackened tilapia tacos, which were tasty. Other options were a salad or simple hamburger. Had a handful of ciders on tap.

Plenty of options and modifications. Gluten free bun, corn tortillas. Waiter was knowledgeable and helpful.
