They used to be celiac friendly but we're clueless at our most recent visit. On the buffet gluten foods were in the same warmer as the "gluten free" foods and spoons were shared. Multiple staff members tried to convince us it was gluten free so they clearly didn't understand. I felt very unsafe eating there given the total lack of understanding of the staff.
I have eaten there several times over the years and never had a problem with getting sick. Ordering is always easy. The place is nice and has a good view. I will say that I don't eat off the buffet, I order a la carte which might explain why I've had better success than others.
Had the Cobb salad with my own dressing. Took 1.5hrs to get our orders (others in the party were not gf). I tested my salad with my Nima and it came back as safe to eat. I would only go here as a last resort.
They have a separate menu for gluten free people, good on cc.
Horizons was excellent! Being a severely sensitive Celiac, even cross contamination can land me in the ER. This restaurant was wonderful. They even had gf bagels/toast for breakfast that they make in the kitchen. Very knowledgeable staff and the owner, Dr. Berger has Celiac and a former physician! I was so thrilled to have Crab Imperial and with a baked potato and sautéed veggies! We'll definitely be back here to stay! Safest restaurant in Ocean City!
Our server didn't know about any GF desserts, nor did she seem attentive to my concern regarding cross contamination. We've eaten at a dozen restaurants in OCMD, and this is an overpriced meal for the mediocre food they serve. If you're looking for bland food and to jump back into 1980s, eat here.
They have homemade gluten free pasta. Very knowledgeable staff. My son has celiacs and I would recommend this business.
You can order off the GF menu, but make sure your server does also. i have eaten twice with no problems yet. True Celiacs must be hyper vigilant here.
what a treat! an extensive gf menu (including desserts!) and a very knowledgeable staff! I enjoyed the chicken with crab imperial and a berry pie for dessert. an added bonus...live music!
The owner has celiac disease so his staff is trained. They have great good and wonderful gluten free desserts.
