Symptomatic Celiac

Overall Rating

Review

This was my first resort as a celiac (2019) and I was newly diagnosed so super worried about travelling. First, if you haven’t been to the Bahamas yet, you need to!!! Paradise Island is beautiful and this resort is good. As far as resorts go it wasn’t my favorite because the actual layout is pretty small (with one pool and one “party pool”) but as far as food went, it was PERFECT. I emailed before going to check on gluten free options and safety procedures and was reassured they take very good care of allergies. When I arrived I was introduced to the chef right away who told me everything I could eat at the buffet … when I time her I wasn’t comfortable with the cross contact of a buffet she said she’d get me anything I want from the kitchen (all the same food but without the mixing of spoons). She also said she could basically make anything I requested. If I wanted something fried she just made a pan with fresh oil for me so I could still have fries and things. There were different chefs every few nights but they were all just as accommodating! Dinners at the restaurants were easy too, there are sometimes limited items marked gluten free but that’s because they can make almost anything safely. I ate very well all week and was super happy with my first celiac vacation! The Atlantis is a veeery short walk and there are so many GF restaurants you can dine at there if you want to try something new as well. You don’t need to pay to enter parts of the hotel but if you do want to enjoy the water park there it’s worth it to do as a day trip!
