Icing on the Cupcake

The gf red velvet cupcake tasted amazing and I was excited since I used to buy them from the Folsom location. Sadly though the cupcake caused me a horrific gluten response, I have celiacs, and I'm sad I can't use the location closest to me. I walked inside and found the one gluten free cupcake on the same tray next to regular cupcakes. I wasn't aware there was a regular red velvet cupcake so the woman working grabbed that one first and so I let her know my apologies I want the gluten free red velvet... she put the regular down and immediately went to grab the gluten free wearing the same gloves. I had her stop and I asked if she could change gloves. I wonder how many times the gf cupcakes had been handled with the same gloves as the regular ones? I took a risk even seeing all this because I never had issues at the Folsom location but oh man was I wrong. Those cupcakes hit as if I had eaten a regular cupcake full of gluten. It wasn't a tiny amount of cross contamination those cupcakes were like drowned in cross contamination. If you have celiacs do not order cupcakes at this location until they better train the staff and have better policies in place. I hope they stop advertising cupcakes as gluten free if they are not taking proper steps to ensure they are gluten free. Red velvet cake is my favorite and I've been sad since I found out I had celiacs a year ago, I can no longer eat red velvet as easily or often, so I was very excited for this cupcake the whole week prior but I've now been ill for three days.
