The gluten free menu is full of cross contamination. It is for nutritional purposes only
IHOP has recently started serving gluten-free pancakes, waffles, and burgers with gluten-free buns.
So happy they are able to accommodate celiac! GF pancakes were so delicious! Staff was knowledgeable and was careful!
This place has plenty of gluten sensitive/free options that are marked on the menu, but if you are celiac, I wouldn’t recommend this location. They have normal breakfast options that are naturally gluten free like eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, fruit, etc. Omelets are surprisingly not gluten free here because they add pancake batter to the omelets to make them fluffier. They also have a “gluten friendly pancake” on the menu.
Now I have had this pancake several times and I don’t know if it’s just this IHOP location or every IHOP, but half the time I have actually been given a normal pancake instead of the gluten free one. The server will swear up and down its gluten free, but I will have my husband either compare it to his pancake or try it to tell me. If I’m alone, I just have to risk it and I usually know in about 20 minutes or so if I’ve been “glutened”.
Anyways, IHOP is a delicious breakfast place that can be GF safe but eat at your own risk.
