Ike's Sandwiches

Ordered a sandwich on gluten free roll. They had an allergy list for all items at the register. They had a protocol to change gloves, knives, etc. for gluten allergies. I didn't get any veggies on my sandwich due to cc risk. It was very good and I did not get sick. Bagged chips are marked GF and there is a selection of fountain drinks.

Ordered online and picked up. We ordered 2 regular sandwiches and 1 GF. I ordered the “We’re Just Friends,” which was really good. I was surprised by the GF bread. It was like a French roll type bread, not regular sliced sandwich bread. I did not get sick later, but would have felt more comfortable if my sandwich had been labeled as GF.

My husband and son (not GF) liked their sandwiches as well. They chose the Hunter Pence and Logan Webb, both on Dutch Crunch bread.

Went here recently because of the gluten free bread and the great reviews. Asked for a turkey sandwich on the gluten free bread. When I asked if their meat was gluten free and they said “I’m not sure” after asking 3 total employees, they stated that their meats are not gluten free. Not sure what the point of the gluten free bread is if the ingredients are not gluten free. We left and were unable to feel confident ordering here.

Ate here twice with no issues. They have gluten free bread and can make any sandwich gluten free. The staff seemed knowledgeable about the ingredients that contained gluten. Very good sandwiches. Highly recommend.

Gluten free bread and had an allergen chart behind the counter that the cashier was able to check when I had questions about sauces (she claimed all sauces were GF minus the orange glaze). Bread was very tasty. Good spot for a casual lunch.

They only have 1 option for gluten free bread, but they can make almost any of their sandwiches gluten free & changed their gloves when making my sandwich. Knowledgeable staff & yummy gluten free chips too!

I am extremely sensitive to gluten and also have a dairy intolerance, very much! This place was very helpful and they changed gloves and they were very comfortable with the cross contamination issue. I had the reuben and they even had Daiya vegan cheese. Their confidence was earned! I didn’t get sick and will go here again next time I’m in Monterey!

Huge variety of subs most can be made on GF sandwich roll and I don’t think they even up charged for it! They toast the bread on a flat toaster but put a sheet of foil underneath for safety. Changed gloves when told it was for “allergy”. Gave the standard disclaimer but instituted best practices.

Friendly staff with a wide menu selection. Their GF roll is soft.

Knowledgeable staff, separate GF prep area, lots of options. I had #111 “Menage A Trois,” which was delicious! I don’t usually like GF bread, but this was really good!

I got #333 and it was served warm on a gf baguette/roll and it was FAN-tastic! My foreign exchange student had the reg/nongf Al Bundy and said it was the best sandwich of her life!

Lots of options, and they were extra careful when I told them that I was gluten free by necessity not by choice. It took a bit longer, but my sandwich turned out great!

Very good sanwiches. They have several gluten free options. My family loves this place!

The sandwiches we all very flavorful and very delicious. They had run out of gluten free bread but I went to trader joes next door and they were willing to use that to make our sandwiches. They made two to make it the same size as their bread and made sure they asked if we needed extra care for our allergies. Great place!

Be sure to call ahead to see if they have GF bread. I stood in line forever at the one on the campus in SF. They had no GF bread after all that!

Good news: I was so excited to visit this place after reading all the reviews, and the hype is real. The GF baguette was amazing and the sandwich was absolutely delicious!

Bad news: my sandwich accidentally got cross contaminated and I've been sick for the past 48 hours...

Definitely worth it if you are 100% positive your sandwich is safe from cross contamination or if you aren't too sensitive

OMG this place is AMAZING!! The gluten free bread is to die for. Seriously. When's the last time you had a sandwich on a baguette? Do it. They even have Daiya cheese for those who can't do dairy or are vegan. They take special precautions to make their gf sandwiches and the cashier went through the allergen list with me. She even let me know which sandwiches her customers with Celiac like the most. HIGHLY recommend this place.

My daughter is highly allergic to gluten. We have eaten here twice without any problems. She wants to open her own Ike's at home! They are great about changing their gloves & taking all of those precautions you would hope everyone would.

Careful precautions in non-dedicated establishment. Amazing selection. Loved it!!

Yum! Only bummer is the chips they carry use peanut oil which I cannot have which left me only one choice. The bread was good though.

One of my favorite spots! I have been having such issues with dining out. This is a nice and easy going meal. To have there or on the go. They have such variety :) I feel safe here.
