I have been going to Il Forno was decades, and believe it or not, most of the staff has been there that entire time. Joseph, the owner, is wonderful and is always there to greet you at the door. Sorin, Michael, Oscar, and everyone else is warm and friendly.
I feared I'd never be able to go back when I was diagnosed as celiac, but I was mistaken. They're knowledgeable and respectful about my limitations. There are a lot of safe options, eg risotto, salads, various main courses, so I have lots to choose from. They do not add flour (or nuts) to their sauces, and they will sub any pasta with a gluten-free pasta. I have never felt sick after eating there, which means I never stress when I order. However, I always remind them that I can't eat gluten, just in case :-)
Sadly, they have some of the tastiest bread in town, so my family still indulges. I recommend getting an appetizer if you don't want to feel left out.
