My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner very much. The man who served us (the owner) was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. I had the chicken Tikka masala. Jim had the tandoori chicken. We had Bhajjas for an appetizer. I have celiac and everything except Naan is gluten free. We will definitely eat there again whenever we are in the area.

I have been coming to Indigo for 9 years. They are warm, kind people. The husband and wife who own the restaurant are well informed about gluten free. Every time I come in, I'm greeted as an old friend, even though I only make the hour drive perhaps once a year. "Hello, your Highness! Chicken tikka masala? How are you and your lovely family?"
Within minutes of being seated, he begins bringing appetizers he knows I enjoy, before I've even ordered. 90% of the menu is gluten free, with the main "offender" being their naan. Most everything is cooked with chickpea flour, not any wheat involved. In most restaurants, I simply don't know if I can trust an owner to know, and I order quite hesitatingly. At Indigo, I don't even have to ask. If it has gluten, he will interrupt me, "oh no, Princess, not that. There is gluten in it. That will hurt your tummy. I would suggest this instead."
I can have fried food without fear. Most every main dish is safe, many appetizers and most desserts. They even have a crispbread, spiced with cumin seeds, that is a delicious counterpoint that is useful to mopping up all the lovely sauces. I have never had the equal in terms of variety and flavor profile in Indian cuisine, nor been treated with such kindness and respect. I have never gotten glutened there.
Their service isn't fast. Some of that is a cultural element, I'm quite sure, and some has to do with the fact that in the current climate, it is difficult to find staff, and they had to downsize to a location in a strip mall instead of their former beautiful premises in a freestanding building. While the food comes out regularly, I would expect a leisurely time for your meal, 60-90 minutes, depending on how many courses you order. You can place orders for pickup. They have a lunch buffet that, while not extensive, the owner will easily walk through your choices of safe options.
I cannot say enough positive things about Indigo and their owners. To enjoy bhajias, chickpea noodle salad, mutter paneer, goat curry, tikka masala, and the most flavorful pistachio ice cream and rice pudding... All without worry? It's simply AMAZING.
