I needed to find a gluten-free friendly and halal restaurant near a BART station to meet a friend for a lunch so I decided to try Indus Village. I usually feel confident about Indian and Pakistani food since most dishes are usually made without gluten. I ordered the chicken tika masala and asked the waiter if it contained any wheat or flower (usually doesn't but just double checking). The waiter was not useful in answering any questions about allergies or cross contamination because he did not speak English and there was no other staff available. I decided to go ahead and just order the food hoping it would past the Nima test. My dish failed the Nima test which detected gluten in the sample provided. I was pretty bummed out since there was no use trying to explain what was wrong to the waiter
